We performed He gas diffusion measurements for the first time in a highly porous ordered AlO aerogel sample at a temperature of 4.2 K using a nuclear magnetic resonance field gradient technique. A strong influence of He adsorption in the aerogel on self-diffusion is observed. The classical consideration of adsorptive gas diffusion in mesopores leads to anomalously high tortuosity factors. The application of a more sophisticated model than the simple combination of empirical two-phase diffusion and the Knudsen gas diffusion models is required to explain our results. Anisotropic properties of the aerogel are not reflected in the observed gas diffusion even at low gas densities where the anisotropic Knudsen regime of diffusion is expected. The observed gas densification indicates the influence of the aerogel attractive potential on the molecular dynamics, which probably explains the reduced diffusion process. Perhaps this behavior is common for any adsorptive gases in nanopores.

Polyimide (PI)-based gas separation membranes are of great interest in the field of H purification owing to their good thermal stability, chemical stability, and mechanical properties. Among polyimide-based membranes, intrinsically microporous polyimides are easily soluble in common organic solvents, showing great potential for fabricating hollow fiber gas separation membranes. However, based on the solution-diffusion model, improving the free volume or the movability of polymer chains can improve gas permeability, but would result in poor thermal stability.

The exploration of quantum phases in moiré systems has drawn intense experimental and theoretical efforts. The realization of honeycomb symmetry has been a recent focus. The combination of strong interaction and honeycomb symmetry can lead to exotic electronic states such as fractional Chern insulator, unconventional superconductor, and quantum spin liquid.

Humic acid (HA) enhances colloidal transport in porous media, yet the mechanisms by which the HA adsorption conformation affects colloid transport remain unclear. This study investigated the influence of HA on the transport of petroleum-hydrocarbon-contaminated soil colloids (TPHs-SC) in saturated sand columns. The presence of TPHs on the colloidal surface occupied adsorption sites, hindering HA from forming a horizontal adsorption conformation, as observed on uncontaminated soil colloids (SC).

ConspectusThe discovery of reversible hydrogenation using metal-free phosphoborate species in 2006 marked the official advent of frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) chemistry. This breakthrough revolutionized homogeneous catalysis approaches and paved the way for innovative catalytic strategies. The unique reactivity of FLPs is attributed to the Lewis base (LB) and Lewis acid (LA) sites either in spatial separation or in equilibrium, which actively react with molecules.

Tear trough deformity (TTD) is a significant cosmetic concern, with current treatments relying primarily on invasive injectable fillers, which are costly and carry risks of complications. Despite the widespread use of hyaluronic acid (HA) in cosmetic applications, its poor dermal permeation has limited the development of effective topical fillers for TTD.This study aim to develop and evaluate a novel hyaluronic acid nanogel (nanofiller, NF) as a non-invasive topical filler for TTD.
