[2.2]Paracyclophane, with its unique structure, allows the design of unusual 3D structures by functionalization of this rigid and stable hydrocarbon scaffold. Therefore different mono- and homodisubstituted [2.2]paracyclophanes with pyridyl, pyrimidyl and oxazolinyl substituents were developed in order to evaluate their ability as bridging ligands for two ruthenium centres. With the successfully synthesized [2.2]paracyclophane-based N-donor functions, the cycloruthenation reaction using [RuCl (p-cymene)] as precursor was explored. Compared to 2-phenylpyridine, the [2.2]paracyclophane derivative is clearly inferior in the cycloruthenation reaction, resulting in poor yields for the neutral complexes. By addition of KPF , the cationic complexes can be obtained in good yields and are formed diastereoselectively in case of a pyridyl substituent, resulting in only one diastereomer for dinuclear ruthenium complexes of bispyridyl-substituted [2.2]paracyclophanes as bridging ligands.

The development of lanthanide-organic frameworks (Ln-MOFs) using for luminescence sensing and selective gas adsorption applications is of great significance from an energy and environmental perspective. This study reports the solvothermal synthesis of a fluorine-functionalized 3D microporous Tb-MOF with a face-centered cubic () topology constructed from hexanuclear clusters (TbO) bridged by fdpdc ligands, formulated as {[Tb(fdpdc)(-OH)(HO)]·4DMF} (), (fdpdc = 3-fluorobiphenyl-4,4'-dicarboxylate). Complex displays a 3D framework with the channel of 7.

A series of colorful binuclear Schiff bases derived from the different diamine bridges including 1,2- ethylenediamine (bis-Et-SA, bis-Et-4-NEt, bis-Et-5-NO, bis-Et-Naph), 1,2-phenylenediamine (bis-Ph-SA, bis-Ph-4-NEt, bis-Ph-5-NO, bis-Ph-Naph), dicyano-1,2-ethenediamine (bis-CN-SA, bis-CN-4-NEt, bis-CN-5-NO, bis-CN-Naph) have been designed and prepared. The optical properties of these binuclear Schiff base ligands were fully determined by UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy, fluorescence emission spectroscopy, and time-dependent-density functional theory (TD-DFT) calculations. The inclusion of D-A systems and/or π-extended systems in these binuclear Schiff base ligands not only enables adjustable RGB light absorption and emission spectra (300~700 nm) but also yields high fluorescence quantum efficiencies of up to 0.

We recorded transmembrane currents through single nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) in cell-attached patches at high temporal resolutions from cultured and transiently transfected HEK 293 cells. Receptor activation was elicited by acetylcholine (ACh) or epibatidine (Ebd) at concentrations ranging from 0.01 to 100 µM, binding to one (R or R) or both extracellular ligand binding sites (R).

Ligand engineering has proven to be an effective strategy for tuning and controlling the microenvironment of coordinated metal centers, highlighting the critical bridge between the activity and structural features of catalysts during electrocatalytic CO reduction reactions (eCORR). However, the limited availability of diverse organic ligands has hindered the development of novel high-performing electrocatalysts. In contrast, small organic molecules have been widely used in the fabrication of metal complexes due to their well-defined functionalities, low cost, and easy accessibility.

While single-atom catalysts (SACs) have been extensively investigated as a high-atom-efficiency heterogeneous catalyst for peroxymonosulfate (PMS) oxidation reaction, the stable constructing and activation efficacy of the reaction sites remains less clarified. Herein, we employed gelatin as a N,O-bidentate ligand for Co (II) to form for a N-doped carbon precursor, while introducing NaCl as a template agent to induce the adoption of a Co-N conformation and disorganize the Co-O moiety. This approach facilitates uniform spatial isolation and atomic-level dispersion of Co atoms within the aerogel, effectively inhibiting the aggregation of Co during synthesis and enabling precise and controllable preparation of Co single-atom catalysts (SACs).
