Introduction: The Renin-Angiotensin System (RAS) has emerged as being related to vascular disease. Recently the RAS has been associated with obesity, diabetes, and even cancer.
Objective: This review and Bioinformatics analyses focuses on the investigation of Angiotensinconverting enzymes (ACE and ACE2) as therapeutical targets for Malignant Epithelial Neoplasia, specifically for Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OSCC).
Conclusion: The literature review and Bioinformatics analyses showed that ACE and ACE2 are interesting targets for OSCC treatment. Studies involving RAS and OSCC should be encouraged for experimental validation.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the emergence of new viral variants has challenged public health efforts, often evading antibody responses generated by infections and vaccinations. This immune escape has led to waves of breakthrough infections, raising questions about the efficacy and durability of immune protection. Here we focus on the impact of SARS-CoV-2 Delta and Omicron spike mutations on ACE-2 receptor binding, protein stability, and immune response evasion.

Neuromedin B (NMB) has potentially great impacts on the development of cardiovascular diseases by promoting hypertensive and sympatho-excitation effects. However, studies regarding the NMB function in paraventricular nucleus (PVN) are lacking. With selective neuromedin B receptor (NMBR) antagonist, BIM-23127, we aim to determine whether the blockade of NMB function in PVN could alleviate central inflammation and attenuate hypertensive responses.

The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, driven by the novel coronavirus and its variants, has caused over 518 million infections and 6.25 million deaths globally, leading to a significant health crisis. Beyond its primary respiratory impact, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) has been implicated in various extra-pulmonary complications.

Sepsis and septic shock are global healthcare problems associated with high mortality rates. Activation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) is an early event in sepsis and elevated renin may be predictive of worse outcomes. In a subset of sepsis patients enrolled in the Vitamin C, Thiamine, and Steroids in Sepsis (VICTAS) trial, active renin (median value > 189 pg/mL or 5.
