Towards well-defined MoS nanoribbons on a large scale.

High quality molybdenum dioxide plates are engineered as templates for epitaxial growth of well-defined MoS nanoribbons (MNRs). The obtained MNRs possess prominent ferromagnetism, suggesting edge zigzag topologies. Our findings have opened an alternative route to large-scale synthesis of well-defined 1D materials.
