The tumor microenvironment (TME) plays a crucial role in the development and progression of gastric cancer (GC). The TME comprises a network of cancer cells, immune cells, fibroblasts, endothelial cells, and extracellular matrix components, which provide a supportive niche for cancer cells. This study investigates the role of TME-derived exosomal competitive endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs), particularly long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) and circular RNAs (circRNAs), as major regulating agents in GC development.

The Hippo signaling pathway is a pivotal regulator of tissue homeostasis, organ size, and cell proliferation. Its dysregulation is profoundly implicated in various forms of cancer, making it a highly promising target for therapeutic intervention. This review extensively evaluates the mechanisms underlying the dysregulation of the Hippo pathway in cancer cells and the molecular processes linking these alterations to tumorigenesis.

Gastric ulcers (GUs) represent a common gastrointestinal disorder characterized by mucosal damage and inflammation, often precipitated by factors such as Helicobacter pylori infection and the consumption of COX inhibitors. This comprehensive review investigates the role of oxidative stress and inflammation in the pathogenesis of GUs and assesses the potential therapeutic effects of Punica granatum (pomegranate, Pg) supplementation. Utilizing a series of experimental models, including indomethacin, aspirin, and alcohol-induced ulcers, we demonstrate that Pg extracts possess significant gastroprotective properties.

7-Aminoactinomycin D (7AAMD) is the fluorescent analogue of the anticancer drug actinomycin D (AMD). In order to overcome toxic side effects and enhanced bioavailability of 7AAMD, micellar drug carrier systems could be useful. We have used cationic (hexadecetyltrimethylammonium bromide [CTAB]), anionic (sodium dodecyl sulphate [SDS]) and non-ionic (t-octylphenoxypolyoxyethanol, Triton-X100 [TX 100]) surfactants to prepare micelle.

Hosts often encounter and must respond to novel pathogens in the wild, that is pathogens that they have not encountered in recent evolutionary history, and therefore are not adapted to. How hosts respond to these novel pathogens and the outcome of such infections can be shaped by the host's evolutionary history, especially by how well adapted the host is to its native pathogens, that is pathogens they have evolved with. Host adaptation to one pathogen can either increase its susceptibility to a novel pathogen, due to specialization of immune defenses and trade-offs between different arms of the immune system, or can decrease susceptibility to novel pathogens by virtue of cross-resistance.
