The pseudogap (PG) state and its related intra-unit-cell symmetry breaking remain the focus in the research of cuprate superconductors. Although the nematicity has been studied in BiSrCaCuO, especially underdoped samples, its behavior in other cuprates and different doping regions is still unclear. Here we apply a scanning tunneling microscope to explore an overdoped (Bi, Pb)SrCuO with a large Fermi surface (FS). The establishment of a nematic order and its real-space distribution is visualized as the energy scale approaches the PG.

Bulk n-type SrTiO (STO) has long been known to possess a superconducting ground state at an exceptionally dilute carrier density. This has raised questions about the applicability of the BCS-Eliashberg paradigm with its underlying adiabatic assumption. However, recent experimental reports have set the pairing gap to the critical temperature (Tc) ratio at the BCS value for superconductivity in Nb-doped STO, even though the adiabaticity condition the BCS pairing requires is satisfied over the entire superconducting dome only by the lowest branch of optical phonons.

Article Synopsis
  • The study predicts how phonons (vibrations of atoms) can lead to two-gap superconductivity in infinite-layer nickelates, specifically Nd_{1-x}Sr_{x}NiO_{2}.
  • Advanced calculations show that self-energy effects significantly change the electronic properties and strengthen the interaction between electrons and phonons compared to traditional methods.
  • The research finds two main superconducting gaps that vary in size based on the type of electronic orbitals and also notes that as more holes are added to the material, the superconducting critical temperature (T_{c}) drops quickly, aligning with experimental findings.

Impact of Structural Alterations from Chemical Doping on the Electrical Transport Properties of Conjugated Polymers.

Conjugated polymers (CPs) are widely used as conductive materials in various applications, with their conductive properties adjustable through chemical doping. While doping enhances the thermoelectric properties of CPs due to improved main-chain transport, overdoping can distort the polymer structure, increasing energy disorder and impeding intrinsic electrical transport. This study explored how different dopants affect the structural integrity and electrical transport properties of CPs.

Article Synopsis
  • - The disappearance of superconductivity in overdoped cuprates is debated, and this study uses scanning tunneling spectroscopy to explore quasiparticle interference in BiSrCuO at varying hole densities.
  • - As doping increases, a unique arc-like quasiparticle interference pattern develops, even at zero bias, indicating a shift in behavior incompatible with traditional models of d-wave superconductivity.
  • - The findings suggest that a new type of normal fluid arises from particle interactions, leading to a decrease in superfluid density and a suppression of superconductivity in overdoped cuprates.

The Hubbard model is an iconic model in quantum many-body physics and has been intensely studied, especially since the discovery of high-temperature cuprate superconductors. Combining the complementary capabilities of two computational methods, we found superconductivity in both the electron- and hole-doped regimes of the two-dimensional Hubbard model with next-nearest-neighbor hopping. In the electron-doped regime, superconductivity was weaker and was accompanied by antiferromagnetic Néel correlations at low doping.
