Protocols and outcomes for the PACE trial were changed after the start of the trial. These changes made substantial differences, leading to exaggerated claims for the efficacy of cognitive behavior therapy and graded exercise therapy in myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome. The small, self-reported improvements in subjective measures cannot be used to say the interventions are effective, particularly in light of the absence of objective improvement. Geraghty's criticism of the trial was reasonable and supported by the evidence.

Objectives: The objectives were to determine the structure of training programmes and assessment of physicians training to become infectious disease (ID) specialists in Europe in early 2024, and to document the provision of specialists, trainees and training centres in each country.
Methods: Delegates to the ID Section and Board of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) entered national data on a web-based survey tool in late 2023-early 2024. Results were compared to UEMS recommendations on the structure and content of postgraduate training in ID in Europe (2018), and to results of a similar survey in early 2021.
Observational studies and clinical trials indicate a link between arterial stiffness (AS) and sarcopenia (SAR), yet the causal relationship between these remains unclear. The study aims to investigate the causal connection from AS to SAR by Mendelian randomization (MR). We analyzed Genome-Wide Association Studies data for AS indicators: pulse wave arterial stiffness index (PWASI) and pulse wave peak-to-peak time (PPT), and SAR indicators: low hand grip strength (LHGS), usual walking pace (UWP), moderate-to-vigorous physical activity levels (MVPA), and walk or cycle unassisted for 10 minutes.

The advent of genetic medicines and advanced diagnostics has revolutionized the treatment landscape for rare diseases and, with over 10,000 identified conditions affecting millions globally, has the potential to improve many lives. Despite this progress, only 5% of rare diseases have FDA-approved therapies, highlighting a significant unmet need. This article examines the critical need for optimizing the regulatory environment to support the development and approval of gene therapies for rare and ultrarare diseases, which often face unique challenges due to their complexity in the midst of a rapidly evolving field.

Introduction: Childhood early oral ageing syndrome (CEOAS) is a condition involving oral abnormalities resulting from systemic diseases of different origins that are related to the current lifestyle of the paediatric population. Enamel defects associated with intrinsic and extrinsic factors promote the early loss of tooth structure at an accelerated pace, with negative impacts on function, aesthetics and quality of life. The aim of the study is to identify the prevalence of early tooth wear in childhood and its severity using the CEOAS index, which is a tool for the diagnosis of the condition and for epidemiological surveys, involving the investigation of abnormalities of the oral cavity in the paediatric population and possible factors associated with the severity of the condition.

Task adaptation, characterized by a progressive increase in speed throughout experimental trials, has been extensively observed across various paradigms. Yet, the underlying mechanisms driving this phenomenon remain unclear. According to the learning-based explanation, participants are implicitly learning, becoming more proficient over time.
