Doum palm and turmeric are traditional medicinal plants with a rich history of use. This study investigated the phytochemical composition, proximate analysis, and GC-MS characterization of doum palm and turmeric blends at different ratios (100%, 80:20%, 60:40%, and 50:50%) using ethanol and warm-water extracts. Phytochemical screening revealed the presence of various bioactive compounds, including alkaloids, anthraquinones, flavonoids, glycosides, saponins, tannins, terpenoids, and phenols, in the blends at ratios of 80:20%, 60:40%, and 50:50%.

The immune system is involved in hypertension development with different immune cells reported to have either pro or anti-hypertensive effects. In hypertension, immune cells have been thought to infiltrate blood pressure-regulating organs, resulting in either elevation or reduction of blood pressure. There is controversy over whether macrophages play a detrimental or beneficial role in the development of hypertension, and the few existing studies have yielded conflicting results.

Balint allows colleagues to explore emotions generated from doctor-patient interactions, complexities sometimes overlooked within traditional curricula. With an increasing burnout rate, evidence-based strategies to support trainee general practitioners (GPs) are needed and we investigated if Balint could be one way to improve this. There are no recent studies looking at Balint in UK GP training.

Proton-exchange membrane fuel cells are promising energy devices for a sustainable future due to green features, high power density, and mild operating conditions. A facile proton-conducting membrane plays a pivotal role to boost the efficiency of fuel cells, and hence focused research in this area is highly desirable. Major issues associated with the successful example of Nafion resulted in the search for alternate proton conducting materials.

Henoch-Schönlein purpura is an IgA-mediated, autoimmune, hypersensitivity vasculitis of childhood that results in a triad of symptoms, including a purpuric rash occurring on the lower extremities, abdominal pain or renal involvement, and arthritis. However, any of the triad may be absent, which often leads to a confusion in diagnosing the condition. Although the cause is unknown, Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) is often associated with infectious agents, such as group A streptococci and mycoplasma.
