Reaction of cis-[PtCl(DMSO)] with the ligand 4-methyl-2-N-(2-pyridylmethylene)aminophenol (Hpyrimol, LH) in methanol at room temperature produces the complexes [PtCl2LH] or [PtClL], under acidic or basic conditions, respectively. The two platinum compounds exhibit distinct DNA-interacting properties, [PtCl2LH] showing a higher affinity for the biomolecules. Furthermore, [PtClL] is clearly more cytotoxic than [PtCl2LH] in three different cancer cell lines. Solution studies reveal the occurrence of intricate solvation processes generating different aquated/hydroxido species, whose nature depends on the starting metal complex and the pH of the medium.

In this study, alginate-based composite beads were developed for the delivery of resveratrol, a compound with therapeutic potential. Two formulations were prepared: one with sodium alginate and resveratrol (AR) and another incorporating graphene nanoplatelets (AGR) to improve drug release control. The smart labels prepared via the casting method and molten 3D printing method have a long heating time at high temperature and a dense network structure, resulting in a decrease in the color response ability of the labels. Therefore, this study uses a nonphase change foam 3D printing method with a shorter heating time to improve the color sensitivity of smart labels. By the pH driving method, the blending and pregelation of sodium alginate (Alg) can extend the drainage time of the interfacial film to the maximum extent, thus further improving the foam stability of egg white protein (EWP) and endowing the interfacial adsorption layer with better flexibility and fluidity.

As the main protein forming the vascular extracellular matrix, collagen has a weak antigenicity, making it an attractive candidate for coatings of vascular grafts. In order to bring antithrombotic properties to collagen for obtaining suitable blood compatibility of surfaces and further bioactive molecule carrying capacity, heparinization appears as a method of choice. Thus, in this article, pH-driven self-assembly was used to form collagen-based hydrogels with physical incorporation of heparins, especially low molecular weight heparin or unfractionated heparin at 1 IU/mL and 6 IU/mL.
