AI Article Synopsis

  • The text discusses a yeast in the CTG clade that primarily lives off decaying organic matter but can sometimes act as a pathogen in humans.* -
  • It presents the genome sequence of the type strain CBS 6936 and compares it to another strain, ATCC 42720.* -
  • The comparison shows that while the overall chromosomal structure is conserved, there are notable differences in nucleotide sequences between the two strains.*

Article Abstract

, an environmental saprophytic yeast belonging to the CTG clade of , can behave occasionally as an opportunistic pathogen in humans. We report here the genome sequence of the type strain CBS 6936. Comparison with sequences of strain ATCC 42720 indicates conservation of chromosomal structure but significant nucleotide divergence.
