Natural rubber composites filled with short natural fibers (flax and sawdust) were prepared by blending procedure and the elastomer cross-linking was carried out using benzoyl peroxide. The microbial degradation of composites was carried out by incubating with recognized for the ability to grow and degrade a broad range of substrates. The extent of biodegradation was evaluated by weight loss and cross-linking degree study of composites after 2 months incubation in pure shake culture conditions. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) have proved to be precious and valuable instruments for morphological as well as structural characterization of the composites before and after incubation with .

Rubber band ligation or shaobei injection for the endoscopic treatment of symptomatic hemorrhoids? A retrospective study.

Surg Endosc

January 2025

Department of General Surgery (Endoscopic Surgery), The Sixth Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-Sen University, No. 26 Yuancun Erheng Road, Tianhe, Guangzhou, 510655, Guangdong, China.

Background: It is unknown whether Shaobei injection is superior to band ligation for endoscopic symptomatic hemorrhoid treatment. We compared the clinical efficacy, safety, and health economics of the two techniques.

Aims: This study aims to compare the efficacy, safety and health economics of endoscopic injection of Shaobei and endoscopic ligation in the treatment of grade I-IV symptomatic hemorrhoids.

Transdiagnostic conceptualization of schizophrenia and autism spectrum disorder. An integrative framework of minimal self disturbance.

Neuropsychopharmacol Hung

December 2024

Pszichiátriai és Pszichoterápiás Klinika, Semmelweis Egyetem, Budapest.

Aims: Autism spectrum disorder and schizophrenia are traditionally viewed as distinct diagnostic categories. However, evidence increasingly suggests overlapping pathological functioning at various levels, starting from brain circuitry to behaviour. Notably, both disorders are characterized by anomalous minimal self-experience (altered body ownership and agency), which is a trait-like, phenomenological distortion.

An automated method was developed to simultaneously measure primary amines and short-chain aldehydes emission from foam and rubber samples in one experiment. The technique involved dynamic solid-phase microextraction (SPME) on-fiber derivatization coupled with a flow-cell unit. The parameters of the dynamic SPME on-fiber derivatization method were optimized, including SPME coating, derivatization agents loading temperature, loading time, and dynamic SPME extraction time.

January 2025

Hainan Provincial Key Laboratory of Natural Rubber Processing, Agricultural Products Processing Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences Zhanjiang 524001 P. R. China

Addressing the environmental challenges posed by oil spills and industrial wastewater is critical for sustainable development. Graphene aerogels demonstrate significant potential as highly efficient adsorbents due to their high specific surface area, excellent structural tunability and outstanding chemical stability. Among available fabrication methods, the hydrothermal self-assembly technique stands out for its low cost, high tunability and good scalability.

Comprehensive collection of uniaxial stress-strain data for rubberized concrete.

Data Brief

February 2025

Civil Engineering Department, College of Engineering, King Saud University, P. O. Box 800, Riyadh 11421, Saudi Arabia.

This dataset article encompasses a thorough compilation of 80 uniaxial stress-strain datasets obtained from cylindrical rubberized concrete specimens subjected to compression testing. Data collection was meticulously conducted through a systematic review and extraction of stress-strain datasets from 68 rubberized concrete mixtures sourced from diverse literature references, incorporating rubber of different origins, sizes, volumes and characteristics. Additionally, stress-strain data for 48 cylindrical specimens, representing 12 different mixes with various rubber sizes and contents, were obtained from laboratory experiments performed by the author.
