Purpose This study evaluates the impact of phacoemulsification on trabeculectomy bleb morphology and intraocular pressure (IOP) control in patients with primary angle closure glaucoma (PACG). The study also evaluates possible alterations in these effects by intra-operative blocking of internal sclerostomy by high-density viscoelastic (visco-cushion). Methods This is a single-center, interventional, prospective study including patients with PACG who underwent phacoemulsification post-trabeculectomy.

Purpose: To investigate the use of anterior-segment OCT (AS-OCT) to visualize the aqueous outflow pathway and patency of the scleral flap in glaucoma filtration surgery blebs.
Design: Cross-sectional study.
Subjects: Two hundred five filtering blebs of 112 patients with glaucoma who had undergone trabeculectomy (Trab, n = 97) or deep sclerectomy (DS, n = 108) surgery with/without mitomycin-C (MMC).

Purpose: Trabeculectomy, a primary surgical treatment for glaucoma, often employs mitomycin C (MMC) to reduce scar formation and improve surgical outcomes. However, the optimal application method of MMC, whether by injection or sponge, remains a subject of debate. This meta-analysis aims to compare injectable and sponge-based MMC application in terms of efficacy and safety, focusing on various clinical outcomes in glaucoma patients.

Objective: To evaluate the effects of a multimodal management technique combining surgical muscle wrapping, clipping, and flow-diverter stent (FDS) placement in patients with ruptured blood blister-like aneurysms (BBAs) in the internal carotid artery (ICA).
Methods: In a retrospective case series review from 2020 to 2023, 3 patients with ruptured ICA BBAs underwent multimodal management, an approach combining muscle wrapping, surgical clipping, and FDS embolization. The aneurysm sac was initially packed and wrapped with multiple tailored temporalis muscle grafts and then secured using fenestration clips, with good preservation of the ICA branches.
