Unlabelled: Metaphyseal comminution in distal radius fracture (DRF) cases might indicate severe osteoporosis. The patients with DRFs and metaphyseal comminution showed 5.2-fold increased secondary fractures compared with those receiving combination osteoporosis therapy.

Vitamin D offers numerous under-recognized health benefits beyond its well-known role in musculoskeletal health. It is vital for extra-renal tissues, prenatal health, brain function, immunity, pregnancy, cancer prevention, and cardiovascular health. Existing guidelines issued by governmental and health organizations are bone-centric and largely overlook the abovementioned extra-skeletal benefits and optimal thresholds for vitamin D.

Abstract: Recent clinical trials on slowing dementia progression have led to renewed focus on finding safer, more effective treatments. One approach to identify plausible candidates is to assess whether existing medications for other conditions may affect dementia risk. We conducted a systematic review to identify studies adopting a data-driven approach to investigate the association between a wide range of prescribed medications and dementia risk.

Background: Ageing is a complex process characterized by the gradual deterioration of physiological functions, often leading to a diminished quality of life. Dementia is among the prominent indicators of ageing characterized by cognitive impairment. Animal studies employing D-galactose have provided insights into the mechanisms underlying cognitive decline and neuronal degeneration, resembling features of human brain ageing while Vitamin K2, known for its diverse physiological functions, also have neuroprotective potential.
