This research investigated the leaves efficiency in the biocontrol, the causative agent of crown gall. GC-MS analysis of the essential oil (EO) showed that the main components were 1,8-cineole (61%) and camphene (15.13%). Thanks to its polyphenols, flavonoids, quinones, terpenoids, alkaloids, and tannins richness, the EtOAc-F exhibited the most potent antibacterial activity in vitro. Indeed, compared to the other fractions, it has the lowest MIC and MBC values of 0.312 mg/mL and 2.5 mg/mL, respectively. The GC-MS analysis of EtOAc-F confirmed its richness in antibacterial compounds including gallic acid (7.18%), shikimic acid (5.07%), and catechin (3.12%). The time-kill curve assay of EtOAc-F (2.5 mg/mL) showed a potent bactericidal effect after 20 min of direct contact with . In planta experiments, gall weights were significantly reduced when EtOAc-F was applied at 0.625 and 2.5 mg/wounds. Besides, the disease reduction rates in gall weight were 95% and 97.5%, respectively. Interestingly, no phytotoxic effect was observed since tomato seeds germinated in the presence of the different concentrations of EtOAc-F. These results suggest that EtOAc-F has a good potential to be a curative biocontrol agent for crown gall disease.

belongs to the family Euphorbiaceae and is widely distributed in northern Xinjiang, making it a characteristic plant of the region in Xinjiang, China. The chemical composition and biological activity of have not yet been reported, although certain compounds isolated from plants in Xinjiang, China, have demonstrated exceptional multidrug resistance (MDR) reversal. This study aims to investigate the chemical components present in with the potential to reverse MDR.

Erythroleukemia, a complex myeloproliferative disorder presenting as acute or chronic, is characterized by aberrant proliferation and differentiation of erythroid cells. Although nootkatone, a sesquiterpene derived from grapefruit peel and Alaska yellow cedar, has shown anticancer activity predominantly in solid tumors, its effects in erythroleukemia remain unexplored. This study aimed to investigate the impact of nootkatone and its derivatives on erythroleukemia.

Daunorubicin (DNR) is an anthracycline antibiotic originating from soil-dwelling actinobacteria extensively used to treat malignant tumors. Over the decades, extensive attempts were made to enhance the production of anthracyclines by introducing genetic modifications and mutations in combination with media optimization, but the target production levels remain comparatively low. Developing an appropriate culture medium to maximize the yield of DNR and preventing autotoxicity for the producing organism remains a challenge.

Stress protein HSP70 administered exogenously has demonstrated high potential as an efficient adjuvant in antitumor immune response. To enhance the antigen-presenting activity, bioavailability, and stability of exogenous recombinant human HSP70, we propose incorporating it into plant extracellular vesicles. Earlier, we found that grapefruit-derived extracellular vesicles (GEV) were able to store the protein with no loss of its major function, chaperone activity.

Homeostasis of tissues requires a complex balance between cell proliferation and cell death. The disruption of this balance leads to tumors. Cancer is a mortal disease that spreads all over the body, it is an irregular cell growth.
