Background: The primary endpoint in diabetes-related foot ulcer (DFU) trials is often time to healing, defined as complete re-epithelialisation with absence of drainage, requiring clinical expert assessment as the gold standard. The Diabetic Foot Ulcer Photography study aims to determine the agreement between blinded independent review panel members for assessing ulcer healing status in patients with DFUs.

The management of postoperative pain in pediatric patients undergoing emergency surgical procedures, particularly in non-pediatric hospitals, presents significant challenges due to the unique physiological requirements of children. The utilization of opioid analgesia may result in severe complications, necessitating a transition toward multimodal analgesia, which integrates various pain management strategies to enhance effectiveness while mitigating adverse effects. Locoregional anesthesia techniques, such as fascial plane blocks, provide targeted pain alleviation, reducing dependence on opioids.

Managing sedation in pediatric patients with complex facial anomalies and airway challenges requires careful consideration of safety and efficacy. This case report presents the use of the Ketodex sedation protocol, combining ketamine (NMDA receptor antagonist) and dexmedetomidine (alpha-2-agonist), for a child with a large cervical/facial mass undergoing a diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Ketodex provides effective sedation with minimal need for manipulation of the airway and side effects, making it ideal for cases involving difficult airways.
