Unlabelled: A rare isolated double orifice mitral valve (DOMV) was diagnosed in a 77-year-old male patient, being assessed for surgical repair of the ascending aorta. This is a rare congenital abnormality, usually discovered as an incidental finding during investigation of other congenital heart defects. This case shows that a detailed assessment of all cardiac structures is necessary, not only in young patients, but also in the elderly population, to minimise the under-diagnosis of such rare anomalies. The use of 3D transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) has an increasingly significant role in establishing the diagnosis and extending the morphological and functional understanding of the anomaly.

Learning Points: Thoroughly assessing all cardiac structures, in accordance with the minimum dataset guidelines for transthoracic echocardiography, ensures not only a comprehensive assessment of the primary indication for the scan, but also improves the detection of concomitant and otherwise unknown lesions. Despite falling under the category of congenital heart defects, several rare anomalies such as DOMV can be present in elderly patients, and the adult echocardiographer should have appropriate knowledge and awareness for detecting these conditions. 3D TTE provides a comprehensive assessment of the morphology of DOMV, over and above the information obtained by 2D imaging.

This case reports a 44-year-old female who presented to the gynecologic oncology clinic status post robotic-assisted laparoscopic myomectomy with intraperitoneal unprotected power morcellation in 2012, with an incidental finding of three conglomerate solid masses in the abdomen above the uterus, with each mass measuring approximately 15.5 cm. The patient underwent an exploratory laparotomy where multiple masses greater than 10 cm were found scattered throughout the abdominal cavity.

Empty sella (ES) is a radiographic finding defined by the presence of cerebrospinal fluid in the sella turcica, with associated compression of the pituitary gland. Empty sella syndrome (ESS) is the combination of this radiographic finding with endocrine, ophthalmological, and/or neurological symptoms. The focus of this literature review is to synthesize information about asymptomatic or incidental ES specifically, meaning the radiologic finding of an empty sella without symptoms.

Background And Objectives: There is emerging evidence that host related variables predict outcomes in various cancers. The Host index (H-index) incorporates various host-related, blood-derived biomarkers (immunological and nutritional parameters) as a single mathematical formula. The aim of this study was to evaluate outcomes using the H-index as a prognostic marker in gallbladder cancer (GBC) patients undergoing curative resection.

Promoting incidental physical activity (IPA) can help reduce sedentary lifestyles and physical inactivity levels in the population. However, there is heterogeneity in the definition of IPA, and studies have yet to synthesize the empirical findings on this topic. This review aimed to (1) Synthesize the definitions of the IPA used in the scientific literature, (2) Identify the behaviors part of the IPA, and (3) Synthesize the main findings on IPA.

Radicular cysts are one of the most common cysts of inflammatory origin involving the maxillofacial region that arise from the remnants of Herwig's epithelial root sheath. These are often diagnosed as incidental findings on radiographs, which are seldom symptomatic and are slowly progressive. Decompression could be used as a conservative treatment approach for the management of large radicular cysts in children to have satisfactory healing and minimum damage to adjacent vital structures, simultaneously allowing the eruption of succedaneous tooth.
