A stereocontrolled synthesis of the left halves of halichondrins was reported. An intramolecular oxy-Michael reaction under basic conditions was used to construct the [6,6]-spiroketal in a stereocontrolled manner. With this approach, the left halves of halichondrins, homohalichondrins, and norhalichondrins were synthesized.

The common marmoset (Callithrix jacchus) has attracted much attention as a nonhuman primate animal model for stress-related experiments. The adrenal gland plays a key role in stress responses and has abundant vasculature, through which the hypothalamic-pituitary axis hormonally controls its activity. Understanding the arterial supply pattern to the gland is fundamental to understanding its function and performing experiments.

The conventional approach to managing a newborn with cloacal exstrophy typically includes separating the cecal plate from between the two hemibladders, tubularizing it to be included in the fecal stream, creating an end colostomy, and bringing the two bladder halves together. This study introduces an alternative approach wherein the cecal plate is retained in its original position and designated for future use as an autoaugment of the bladder. Four cases of cloacal exstrophy cases managed between November 2019 and February 2024 are described, with surgical approach and postoperative outcomes reported.

The auditory system comprises multiple subcortical brain structures that process and refine incoming acoustic signals along the primary auditory pathway. Due to technical limitations of imaging small structures deep inside the brain, most of our knowledge of the subcortical auditory system is based on research in animal models using invasive methodologies. Advances in ultrahigh-field functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) acquisition have enabled novel noninvasive investigations of the human auditory subcortex, including fundamental features of auditory representation such as tonotopy and periodotopy.

Introduction And Importance: Cloacal exstrophy (CE) is defined as a complex anomaly that affects the urogenital and intestinal tracts. It is the most serious form of anomaly that is described within the so-called exstrophy-epispadias complex. These malformations usually present a challenge in the management of particular conditions, as most of these forms require multiple surgeries, resulting in the use of multidisciplinary approaches, including reconstructive urologists, pediatric surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, endocrinologists, pediatricians, psychologists and nutritionists.
