Published: August 2017

Treatment of propargyl ureas or guanidines with iodosobenzene diacetate results in an oxidative tandem amination/etherification dearomatizing spirocyclization. This transformation leads directly to the complete framework of the Leucetta alkaloids, spirocalcaridine A and B.

Ammonia emissions from vehicles and power plants cause severe environmental issues, including haze pollution and nitrogen deposition. Selective catalytic oxidation (SCO) is a promising technology for ammonia abatement, but current catalysts often struggle with insufficient activity and poor nitrogen selectivity, leading to the formation of secondary pollutants. In this study, we developed a bifunctional Ru/Cu-CHA zeolite catalyst for ammonia oxidation, incorporating both SCO sites (Ru) and selective catalytic reduction sites (SCR, Cu).

Free fentanyl is responsible for its pharmacological effects, but its total concentration is typically determined for therapeutic drug monitoring purposes. Determination of fentanyl concentration can help reduce the prescribed doses, leading to fewer side effects and increased effectiveness. Therefore, predicting free drug concentration in pharmaceutical research is crucial.

ConspectusThe Mannich reaction, involving the nucleophilic addition of an enol(ate) intermediate to an imine or iminium ion, is one of the most widely used synthetic methods for the synthesis of β-amino carbonyl compounds. Nevertheless, the homo-Mannich reaction, which utilizes a homoenolate intermediate as the nucleophilic partner and provides straightforward access to the valuable γ-amino carbonyl compounds, remains underexplored. This can be largely attributed to the difficulties in generation and manipulation of the homoenolate species, despite various homoenolate equivalents that have been developed.

Background: Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD) encompasses a spectrum of histological conditions ranging from simple steatosis to fibrosing steatohepatitis, and is a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases (CVD). While oxidised apolipoproteins A and B have been linked to obesity and CVD, the association between other oxidised apolipoproteins and MASLD is yet to be established. To fill this gap, we characterised the circulating serum peptidome of patients with MASLD.

Background: 7-Hydroxymethotrexate (7-OHMTX) is the main metabolite in plasma following high-dose MTX (HD-MTX), which may result in activity and toxicity of the MTX. Moreover, 7-OHMTX could produce crystalline-like deposits within the renal tubules under acidic conditions or induce renal inflammation, oxidative stress, and cell apoptosis through various signaling pathways, ultimately leading to kidney damage. The objectives of this study were thus to explore the exposure-safety relationship of two compounds and search the most reliable marker for predicting HDMTX nephrotoxicity.
