Glycerol is one of the most important biomass platform compounds that is a by-product of biodiesel production, and the selective cleavage of the CC bond of glycerol to produce liquid hydrogen carriers (i.e., formic acid and formaldehyde) offers a viable strategy to alleviate the currently faced energy shortages.

The highly publicized murders of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and Ahmaud Arbery in 2020 sparked public outrage and widespread discussion around anti-Black violence. While some studies have examined the effects of anti-Black violence exposure on mental health outcomes, there is a paucity of research that explores how these racially charged events contribute to cumulative stress and "weathering" for Black people, particularly. Informed by racial battle fatigue theory, this in-depth qualitative study explored the lived experiences of 30 Black male and female undergraduate college students (aged 18-28) exposed to highly publicized acts of anti-Black violence.

We present an in-depth electrophysiological analysis of Tse5, a pore-forming toxin (PFT) delivered by the type VI secretion system (T6SS) of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The T6SS is a sophisticated bacterial secretion system that injects toxic effector proteins into competing bacteria or host cells, providing a competitive advantage by disabling other microbes and modulating their environment. Our findings highlight the dependency of Tse5 insertion on membrane charge and electrolyte concentration, suggesting an in vivo effect from the periplasmic space.

Metal single atoms (SA)-support interactions inherently exhibit significant electrochemical activity, demonstrating potential in energy catalysis. However, leveraging these interactions to modulate electronic properties and extend application fields is a formidable challenge, demanding in-depth understanding and quantitative control of atomic-scale interactions. Herein, in situ, off-axis electron holography technique is utilized to directly visualize the interactions between SAs and the graphene surface.

Purpose: To explore possible pathogenic genes for concomitant exotropia using whole-exome sequencing.
Methods: In this study, 47 individuals from 10 concomitant exotropia (including intermittent exotropia and constant exotropia) pedigrees were enrolled. Whole-exome sequencing was used to screen mutational profiles in 25 affected individuals and 10 unaffected individuals.
