For the first time full next-to-leading-order electroweak corrections to off-shell vector-boson scattering are presented. The computation features the complete matrix elements, including all nonresonant and off-shell contributions, to the electroweak process pp→μ^{+}ν_{μ}e^{+}ν_{e}jj and is fully differential. We find surprisingly large corrections, reaching -16% for the fiducial cross section, as an intrinsic feature of the vector-boson-scattering processes. We elucidate the origin of these large electroweak corrections upon using the double-pole approximation and the effective vector-boson approximation along with leading-logarithmic corrections.

A measurement is presented of a ratio observable that provides a measure of the azimuthal correlations among jets with large transverse momentum . This observable is measured in multijet events over the range of - based on data collected by the CMS experiment in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 , corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 134 . The results are compared with predictions from Monte Carlo parton-shower event generator simulations, as well as with fixed-order perturbative quantum chromodynamics (pQCD) predictions at next-to-leading-order (NLO) accuracy obtained with different parton distribution functions (PDFs) and corrected for nonperturbative and electroweak effects.

We present the results for the complete next-to-leading order electroweak corrections to pp→HH at the Large Hadron Collider, focusing on the dominant gluon-gluon fusion process. While the corrections at the total cross-section level are approximately -4%, those near the energy of HH production threshold exceed +15%, and corrections at the high-energy region are around -10%, leading to a shape distortion for the differential distributions. Our findings substantially diminish the theoretical uncertainties associated with this pivotal process, providing valuable input for understanding the shape of the Higgs boson potential upon comparison with experimental measurements.

The production of a top-antitop quark pair in association with a W boson (tt[over ¯]W) is one of the heaviest signatures currently probed at the Large Hadron Collider. Since the first observation reported in 2015, the corresponding rates have been found to be consistently higher than the standard model predictions, which are based on next-to-leading order calculations in the QCD and electroweak interactions. We present the first next-to-next-to-leading order QCD computation of tt[over ¯]W production at hadron colliders.

We compute the total cross section for tt[over ¯]tt[over ¯] production at next-to-leading logarithmic (NLL^{'}) accuracy. This is the first time resummation is performed for a hadron-collider process with four colored particles in the final state. The calculation is matched to the next-to-leading order strong and electroweak corrections.
