Benign lipomas are a common medical problem that is not known to regress spontaneously. In addition, vitamin D (VD) is a known regulator of adipocyte proliferation and differentiation. Thus, the purpose of this multi-case study was to determine if optimizing serum 1,25(OH)D3 (VD3) concentrations to the 40-60 ng/mL range would catalyze regression of benign subcutaneous lipomas.

Background: The circulation in free flap is mainly studied on blood perfusion, but lack of exploring contributory factor of lymphatic drainage. This study aimed to monitor lymphatic reconstitution of free latissimus dorsi (LD) flaps for lower extremity defects repair, using indocyanine green (ICG) lymphography and assessing its relationship with post-operative flap edema.
Methods: Patients who underwent lower extremity defects repair with free LD flap between January 2021 and April 2024 were included.

Introduction: Pituitary adenomas are benign tumours that can lead to visual loss through compression of the optic chiasm. Patients with pituitary adenomas often present with visual field defects (commonly bitemporal hemianopia), but some may be asymptomatic. In such cases, abnormalities may only be detected through visual field testing or optical coherence tomography (OCT) of the ganglion cell-inner plexiform layer (GCIPL), which may provide a more sensitive method for detecting such abnormalities.

Background/objectives: Aging and chronic stress are regarded as the most important risk factors of cognitive decline. Aged spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs) represent a suitable model of age-related vascular brain diseases. The aim of this study was to explore the effects of chronic isolation stress in aging SHRs on their cognitive functions and response to acute stress, as well as the influence of the chronic oral intake of N-Pep-Zn, the Zn derivative of N-PEP-12.
