The effectiveness of rapid rail transit system is analyzed using tools of complex network for the first time. We evaluated the effectiveness of the system in Beijing quantitatively from different perspectives, including descriptive statistics analysis, bridging property, centrality property, ability of connecting different part of the system and ability of disease spreading. The results showed that the public transport of Beijing does benefit from the rapid rail transit lines, and the benefit of different regions from RRTS is gradually decreased from the north to the south. The paper concluded with some policy suggestions regarding how to promote the system. This study offered significant insight that can help understand the public transportation better. The methodology can be easily applied to analyze other urban public systems, such as electricity grid, water system, to develop more livable cities.

The efficient acquisition and processing of large-scale terrain data has always been a focal point in the field of photogrammetry. Particularly in complex mountainous regions characterized by clouds, terrain, and airspace environments, the window for data collection is extremely limited. This paper investigates the use of airborne millimeter-wave InSAR systems for efficient terrain mapping under such challenging conditions.

Waste plastic oils (WPOs) can help address the global energy crisis caused by the rapid depletion of fossil fuels, global warming, and strict emission regulations. The present research delves into the intricate interplay of higher alcohol blends in the context of combustion, performance, and emission characteristics within a common rail direct injection engine. In this regard, 1-hexanol has been selected as the blending constituent for the WPO to tackle emission challenges while concurrently reducing dependence on conventional fuel, as it stands out for its enhanced fuel properties compared to lower alcohols.

However, previous studies have overlooked the "climbing" mode of construction land on three-dimensional terrains. To address this issue, utilizing elevation data and land use data from 2010 to 2020, this study employs slope analysis, intensity analysis, spatio-temporal transformation, and PLUS model to elucidate the spatial expansion process and driving forces of urban construction land in Chongqing from both two-dimensional and three-dimensional perspectives.

In 2022, 2034 incidents occurred at highway-rail grade crossings (HRGCs) in the United States, posing significant risks such as fatalities, injuries, and property damage. These incidents underscore the need for effective prevention and mitigation strategies. With over 212,000 public and private HRGCs nationwide, safety monitoring is challenging, as traditional inspections primarily rely on manual assessments.

To improve the performance of earthquake early warning (EEW) systems, we propose an approach that utilizes the time-dependence of P-wave displacements to estimate the earthquake magnitude () based on the relationship between and the displacement. The traditional seismological understanding posits that this relationship achieves statistical significance when the displacement reaches its final peak value, resulting in the adoption of time-constant coefficients. However, considering the potential for earlier establishment of the relationship's significance than conventionally assumed, we analyze waveforms observed in Japan and determine the intercept in the relationship as a function of time from the P-wave onset.
