Background: Systemic infection (SCI) is the third most common cause of late-onset sepsis in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU). While platelet involvement in fungal infections has been extensively studied, evaluation of the hemostatic mechanism in Candida infections, especially in neonates, has not been widely investigated. Objective: To establish a prediction nomogram for early prediction of neonatal acute respiratory distress syndrome (NARDS).
Methods: This is a retrospective cross-sectional study conducted between January 2021 and December 2023. Clinical characteristics and laboratory results of cases with neonatal pneumonia were compared in terms of presence of NARDS diagnosis based on the Montreux Definition.
Background: Adverse birth outcomes (ABO), such as preterm birth (PTB), small and large for gestational age (SGA/LGA), can compromise both the short- and long-term health of mothers and their foetuses. The purpose of this observational study was to investigate the association between maternal serum alkaline phosphatase (ALP) levels in late pregnancy and the risk of ABO, and to evaluate its predictive value of maternal ALP levels for ABO in women with singleton pregnancies.
Methods: A total of 11 853 consecutive pregnant women underwent hepatic and renal function tests, lipid profile assessments, ALP and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein levels measurements upon admission for labour.

Prefabricated buildings have a series of advantages such as high efficiency, energy savings, and environmental protection, and are being strongly promoted by the Chinese government. However, due to the late start of prefabricated buildings in China, the installation process of prefabricated components is relatively complex, leading to difficulties in quality and safety control. A novel evaluation methodology integrating the technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) with prospect theory and interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy numbers (IVPFNs) is proposed.
