Data in this article depict patterns of methylation in lung tissues obtained from the offspring of B6129SF1/J dams and 129S1/SvImJ sires exposed to benzo[]pyrene (BaP) or dibenzo[]chrysene (DBC) as compared to non-exposed offspring. Genome-wide methylation of lung tumors in adult offspring was determined using methylated DNA immunoprecipitation (MeDIP) with the NimbleGen mouse DNA methylation CpG island array. This data article refers to the research article "DNA methylation in lung tissues of mouse offspring exposed to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons," [1] in which comprehensive data interpretation and analysis are provided.

Background: Cisplatin (DDP) resistance has long posed a challenge in the clinical treatment of lung cancer (LC). Insulin-like growth factor 2 binding protein 2 (IGF2BP2) has been identified as an oncogenic factor in LC, whereas its specific role in DDP resistance in LC remains unclear.

Results: In this study, we investigated the role of IGF2BP2 on DDP resistance in DDP-resistant A549 cells (A549/DDP) in vitro and in a DDP-resistant lung tumor-bearing mouse model in vivo.

Hypomethylating agents (HMAs) such as azacytidine and decitabine are FDA-approved chemotherapy drugs for hematologic malignancy. By inhibiting DNA methyltransferases, HMAs reactivate tumor suppressor genes (TSGs) and endogenous double-stranded RNAs (dsRNAs) that limit tumor growth and trigger apoptosis via viral mimicry. Yet, HMAs show limited effects in many solid tumors despite the strong induction of TSGs and dsRNAs.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) have been regarded as important environmental carcinogens that can cause lung cancer. However, the underlying epigenetic mechanism during PAHs-induced lung carcinogenesis has remained largely unknown. Previously, we screened some novel epigenetic regulatory genes during 3-methylcholanthrene (3-MCA)-induced lung carcinogenesis, including the potassium inwardly rectifying channel subfamily J member 15 (KCNJ15) gene.

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the biological roles and molecular mechanisms of Cathepsin G (CTSG) in the progression of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Methods: Western blotting and immunohistochemistry analyses of clinical samples were performed to determine the expression levels of CTSG in patients with NSCLC. Bioinformatic analysis of clinical datasets was conducted to evaluate the correlation between CTSG and lymph node metastasis, tumor stage, and immune cell infiltration.

Unlabelled: Lung cancer remains the leading cause of death among cancer patients, and the five-year survival rate is less than 25%. However, () polymorphism rs140693 predicts the prognosis of lung cancer patients still needs further verification. Primary lung cancer patients ( = 839) were collected from two hospitals, genomic DNA was extracted from blood, and genotyping was performed using SNPcan technology.
