Cysticercosis is a systemic parasitic infestation caused by ingesting the eggs of the pork tapeworm, Taenia solium. The central nervous system (CNS) is the most important primary site of infection and disease can present with solitary or multiple space-occupying lesion. Other organs like subcutaneous tissues, muscles, heart, liver, lungs, and peritoneum are more frequently affected but maxillofacial region involvement is rare. The diagnosis of cysticercose is evoked on US examination and CT scan, but confirmation is only possible by Fine needle aspiration cytology [FNAC] or histological examination in case of surgical removal of the oral lesion which can identify the Taenia solium larva. Solitary intramuscular cysticercosis in maxillofacial region, without involvement of CNS is a rare entity. We present a rare case of solitary temporalis muscle involvement without any systemic or neurologic infestation, which presented the diagnostic and therapeutic dilemma along with review of literature.

Gastric cancer (GC) is a common malignant tumor and the third most common cancer in China in terms of mortality. Stomach microorganisms play complex roles in the development of GC. The carcinogenic mechanism of Helicobacter pylori has been elucidated, and there is much evidence that other microorganisms in the gastric mucosa are also heavily involved in the disease progression of this cancer.

Background: Respect for patient autonomy, the principle that patients are capable to make informed decisions about medical interventions, is fundamental in present-day medicine. However, if a patient's request is medically not indicated, the practitioner faces an ethical dilemma represented by the conflict of the principles of patient autonomy, beneficence, and maleficence. Adjacent to topics such as medical assistance in dying and healthy limb amputation, this ethical dilemma also manifests in the care of the maxillofacial region (the oral cavity and its surroundings), an area crucial to esthetic appearance, but also to everyday functions including mastication, speech, and facial expression, all of which are related to well-being.

Therefore, a major trauma network system was devised to address these issues in line with other trauma systems around the world.

Background: Long-term, potentially lifelong therapy is needed to treat noninfectious uveitis (NIU) in children. Previous research has focused primarily on treatment approaches, but few studies have investigated the effect of children's chronic illness on other family members. The aim of this study is to explore the experiences of burden and needs in caregivers of children with NIU, and to provide a reference for formulating targeted intervention strategies.

Aim: Pressing oral health care challenges pose prioritization dilemmas for governments. This study aimed to identify key determinants of prioritization in oral health policy in Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, as part of a series of the DELIVER project.
Methods: A literature review based on a search of PubMed and Google Scholar articles related to these countries from January 1, 2000, to October 17, 2023, and key informant interviews with policy makers were conducted to identify key trends in oral health policy choices and determinants of priority setting and resource allocation processes.
