We introduce an exact replica method for the study of critical systems with quenched bond randomness in two dimensions. For the q-state Potts model, we show that a line of renormalization group fixed points interpolates from weak to strong randomness as q-2 grows from small to large values. This theory exhibits a q-independent sector, and allows at the same time for a correlation length exponent which keeps the Ising value and continuously varying magnetization exponent and effective central charge. These findings appear to solve long-standing numerical and theoretical puzzles, and to illustrate the peculiarities which may characterize the conformal field theories of random fixed points.

Luminescent lanthanide compounds stand out for their distinctive characteristics including narrow emission bands, substantial Stokes shifts, high quantum yields, and unique luminescent colors. However, Ln is highly susceptible to vibrational quenching from X-H (X = O/N) high-energy oscillators in the embedded organic antenna, resulting in significant nonradiative energy dissipation of the D excited states of Ln. Herein, we introduce a strategy based on supramolecular interactions to modulate the nonradiative transitions in a new Zn-Tb heterometallic compound, [ZnTb(HL)(NO)Cl]·2CHCN·HO (), based on a phenyl-substituted pyrazolinone-modified salicylamide-imide ligand ().

Ingeniously regulating the conformational equilibrium and ESPT mechanism of HBT-DPI by solvent environment: A novel perspective.

HBT-DPI was a single-molecule multi-conformational fluorescent material and had unique applications for hydrophobic/hydrophilic mapping on large-scale heterogeneous surfaces. In this paper, the different proton transfer processes and luminescence mechanisms of HBT-DPI in Dichloromethane (DCM, no hydrogen bond (HB) receptor) and N, N-Dimethylformamide (DMF, HB receptor) solvents were systematically studied. Using the quantum chemistry method, the stable structures of HBT-DPI in two solvents were determined based on the Boltzmann distribution.

Fluorescent distinguishing flavonoid glycosides against aglycones based on the selective recognization of boric acid-functional Eu(III)-organic framework.

Flavonoid glycosides are formed by dehydration condensation of aglycones and sugar molecules. Therefore, discrimination of flavonoid glycosides from their corresponding aglycones is a challenging task because they contain the same aglycone part in their molecular structures. Herein, boric acid-functional Eu(III)-organic framework (BA-Eu-MOF) was applied to discriminate flavonoid glycosides including baicalin (Bai), wogonoside (Wog), rutin (Rut), puerarin (Pue), quercitrin (Que) and astragalin (Ast) from their corresponding aglycones for the first time.

Imaging abnormal copper/iron with effective fluorescent tools is essential to comprehensively put insight into many pathological events. However, conventional coordination-based detection is mired in the fluorescence quenching induced by paramagnetic Cu(II)/Fe(III). Moreover, the strong chelating property of the probe will consume dissociative metal ions and inevitably interfere with the physiological microenvironment.

A new aggregation-induced emission (AIE) luminogen is obtained by dimerizing acridin-9(10H)-one (Ac), an aggregation-caused quenching (ACQ) effect monomer via an N─N bond and forming 9H,9'H-[10,10'-biacridine]-9,9'-dione (DiAc) with D symmetry. The quenching of DiAc in solution is ascribed to the enhanced basicity promoting hydrogen bonding and then a hydrogen abstraction (HA) reaction and/or an unallowed transition in frontier orbitals with the same symmetry facilitating intersystem crossing. It is found that emissive Ac is one product of the non-emissive DiAc solution in the HA reaction activated by UV irradiation.
