Retroperitoneal teratomas are rare neoplasms in neonates, presenting with nonspecific symptoms and variable clinical features, making diagnosis challenging. Radiological investigations, particularly fetal ultrasound and contrast-enhanced computed tomography, play a critical role in their detection. Differential diagnoses include neuroblastoma, adrenal hemorrhage, and congenital cystic lesions, which share overlapping clinical and imaging features.

Chronic pelvic pain (CPP) is a medically complex, multifaceted gynecological condition associated with psychological comorbidities and sexual trauma among women. Low rates of positive treatment outcomes underscore the need to better understand complex relationships between CPP, trauma exposure, and the psychosocial context of patients' lives. We conducted a secondary analysis of English and Spanish qualitative interviews with female-identity patients (N = 48) about CPP's impact on psychosocial well-being.

Dendrimer-Mediated Generation of a Metal-Phenolic Network for Antibody Delivery to Elicit Improved Tumor Chemo/Chemodynamic/Immune Therapy.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

January 2025

State Key Laboratory for Modification of Chemical Fibers and Polymer Materials, Shanghai Engineering Research Center of Nano-Biomaterials and Regenerative Medicine, College of Biological Science and Medical Engineering, Donghua University, Shanghai 201620, China.

To simplify the composition and improve the efficacy of metal-phenolic network (MPN)-based nanomedicine, herein, we designed an MPN platform to deliver programmed death ligand-1 (PD-L1) antibody (anti-PD-L1) for combined tumor chemo/chemodynamic/immune therapy. Here, generation 5 poly(amidoamine) dendrimers conjugated with gossypol (Gos) through boronic ester bonds were used as a synthetic polyphenol to coordinate Mn, and then complexed with anti-PD-L1 to obtain the nanocomplexes (for short, DPGMA). The prepared DPGMA exhibited good water dispersibility with a hydrodynamic size of 166.

Genipin crosslinked sodium caseinate-chitosan oligosaccharide nanoparticles for optimizing β-carotene stability and bioavailability.

Int J Biol Macromol

January 2025

Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Marine Bioresources and Ecology, College of Life Sciences and Oceanography, Shenzhen University, Shenzhen 518060, China. Electronic address:

In this study, genipin served as crosslinker to combine sodium caseinate (SC) and chitosan oligosaccharide (COS), aiming to improve the physicochemical properties and encapsulation efficiency of SC in delivering hydrophobic nutritional factors. The genipin crosslinked complex of SC and COS (GSCC) was characterized by circular dichroism spectrum and infrared spectrum analyses. Nanoparticles produced from GSCC (GSCCNP) exhibited a superior hydrophilicity compared to those derived from SC (SCNP).

Background: Value-based care payment and delivery models such as the recently implemented Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) aim to both provide better care for patients and reduce costs of care. Gender disparities across orthopaedic surgery, encompassing reimbursement, industry payments, referrals, and patient perception, have been thoroughly studied over the years, with numerous disparities identified. However, differences in MIPS performance based on orthopaedic surgeon gender have not been comprehensively evaluated.
