Objetive: We report a case of acquired renal cystic disease associated with renal dialysis and endstage renal disease. The patient suffered the two major complications related with acquired renal cystic disease; hemorrhage and renal carcinoma.
Methods: Our case is a patient with acquired renal cystic disease, single kidney after surgery for renal clear cell carcinoma four years earlier, who developed a Wünderlich syndrome (WS).
Results: The histological study of the nephrectomy specimen showed a renal papillary carcinoma in the context of acquired renal cystic disease after surgery for a WS.
Conclusions: Renal hemorrhage is a serious complication that can lead to a fatal outcome. Patients undergoing dialysis should be monitored actively due to the risk of developing acquired renal cystic disease and associated complications.

Calciphylaxis is a rare and serious disorder almost exclusively seen in patients on dialysis or those with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD) not on dialysis and is associated with very high mortality. We present the case of a 50-year-old male with a background of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) compliant with dialysis, parathyroid adenoma, secondary hyperparathyroidism, and high body mass index (BMI). Whilst receiving 31 doses of intravenous sodium thiosulphate (STS) over an 11-week period, the patient underwent surgical debridement of multiple painful ulcerative lesions in his lower abdomen and left thigh and then subsequently a subtotal parathyroidectomy at 70 days from admission.

B cell immunity carries the inherent risk of deviating into autoimmunity and malignancy, which are both strongly associated with genetic variants or alterations that increase immune signaling. Here, we investigated the interplay of autoimmunity and lymphoma risk factors centered around the archetypal negative immune regulator TNFAIP3/A20 in mice. Counterintuitively, B cells with moderately elevated sensitivity to stimulation caused fatal autoimmune pathology, while those with high sensitivity did not.

Background: Triple rule-out computed tomography angiography (CTA) provides imaging of the coronary arteries, pulmonary arteries, and thoracic aorta filled with contrast material (CM) to exclude or diagnose the pathologies of these three systems. Although dual rule-out adapted to exclude aortic and pulmonary pathologies. Iodinated CM may result in contrast-induced nephropathy, which lengthens hospital stay.

Background: Gabapentinoids, such as gabapentin and pregabalin, are opioid substitutes commonly included in perioperative multimodal analgesia regimens. We investigated whether the initiation of gabapentin and pregabalin during the perioperative period have varying effects on the adverse renal outcomes.
Methods: This study included adult participants who received surgery in the INSPIRE database.
