Metal selenates crystallize in many instances in isomorphic structures of the corresponding sulfates. Sodium magnesium selenate decahydrate, NaMg(SeO)·10HO, and sodium magnesium selenate dihydrate, NaMg(SeO)·2HO, were synthesized by preparing solutions of NaSeO and MgSeO·6HO with different molar ratios. The structures contain different Mg octahedra, i.e. [Mg(HO)] octahedra in the decahydrate and [MgO(HO)] octahedra in the dihydrate. The sodium polyhedra are also different, i.e. [NaO(HO)] in the decahydrate and [NaO(HO)] in the dihydrate. The selenate tetrahedra are connected with the chains of Na polyhedra in the two structures. O-H...O hydrogen bonding is observed in both structures between the coordinating water molecules and selenate O atoms.

Despite extensive research on the use of salts to enhance micellar growth, numerous questions remain regarding the impact of ionic exchange and molecular structure on charge neutralization. This study looks into how certain cations (Na, Ca, and Mg) affect the structure of a cocamidopropyl betaine CAPB and sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate SDBS surfactant mixture, aiming toward applications in targeted delivery systems. The mixture consists of a zwitterionic surfactant, cocamidopropyl betaine (CAPB), and an anionic surfactant, sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate (SDBS), combined in varying molar ratios at a total concentration of 200 mM.

P2-type NaMnNiO as the cathode for sodium-ion batteries, has a relatively high theoretical specific capacity, but its unstable crystal structure and undesirable phase transitions lead to rapid capacity decay. In this work, Mg-B-O coated NaMnNiO microspheres have been synthesized via a liquid-phase method based on solvothermal synthesized NaMnNiO. The Mg-B-O coating layer significantly improves the electrochemical performance, including specific capacity, rate capability, and cycle stability.

A comprehensive hydrogeochemical analysis of 156 groundwater samples (106 shallow and 50 deep) was conducted in the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal. This study addresses a significant research gap by focusing on the hydro-geochemical composition and contamination of groundwater in the Kathmandu Valley, an area with limited detailed assessments. The novelty of this work lies in its comprehensive analysis of both shallow and deep groundwater, particularly concerning the high concentration of contaminants like arsenic, microbial pathogens, and ammonium, which are critical for public health.

The mechanisms that regulate minor and trace element biomineralization in the echinoid skeleton can be primarily controlled biologically (, by the organism and its vital effects) or by extrinsic environmental factors. Assessing the relative role of those controls is essential for understanding echinoid biomineralization, taphonomy, diagenesis, and their potential as geochemical archives. In this study, we (1) contrast geochemical signatures of specimens collected across multiple taxa and environmental settings to assess the effects of environmental and physiological factors on skeletal biomineralogy; and (2) analyze the nanomechanical properties of the echinoid skeleton to assess potential linkages between magnesium/calcium (Mg/Ca) ratios and skeletal nanohardness.

This study aimed to compare thirteen different varieties of hyacinth beans analyzedfor their nutritional and antinutritional constituents. The study classified HA-3, HA-4, and Kadale Avare as Lignosus varieties, while the remaining varieties Arka, Pusa, CO, and NS, were classified as Typicus. The protein content ranged from 19.
