A new unidirectional light-driven molecular motor suitable for host-guest surface inclusion complexes with tris(o-phenylene)cyclotriphosphazene (TPP) was synthesized. The motor molecules formed regular two-dimensional trigonal arrays covering the large facets of disc-shaped TPP nanocrystals. Photochemical and thermal isomerization studies demonstrated that the light-driven rotation of the anchored motors is similar to that observed in solution and is not compromised neither by either the surface confinement or the density of surface coverage (50 vs 100%).

This study systematically assessed the performance of a newly developed solid-phase extraction (SPE) material, cellulose-supported aminated β-cyclodextrin polymer (amine-β-CDP@Cellulose), in determining 44 xenobiotics, encompassing endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), pharmaceuticals, and food additives in urine samples. The primary objective of the research was to synthesize a new sorbent, optimize the extraction protocol, and elucidate the underlying adsorption and desorption mechanisms. Following optimization, it was observed that amine-β-CDP@Cellulose achieved recoveries ranging from 80 % to 120 % for 28 of the 44 targeted xenobiotics, with only three compounds showing recoveries below 50 %.

Dry deposition is an important yet poorly constrained process that removes reactive organic carbon from the atmosphere, making it unavailable for airborne chemical reactions and transferring it to other environmental systems. Using an aircraft-based measurement method, we provide large-scale estimates of total gas-phase organic carbon deposition rates and fluxes. Observed deposition rates downwind of large-scale unconventional oil operations reached up to 100 tC hour, with fluxes exceeding 0.

Background: DAP12 (DNAX-activation protein 12 or TYROBP) functions as a pivotal adaptor, facilitating signal transmission from surface immune receptors on microglia, including TREM2-a known risk gene for Alzheimer's disease (AD). Previous studies showed that DAP12-deficient mice exhibit resistance to tau toxicity in a tauopathy model, manifesting reduced brain inflammation and improved cognition, despite increased tau pathology. However, the precise mechanism underlying how DAP12 deficiency enhances resilience to tauopathy remains elusive.

Background: Language impairment manifestations in patients with the semantic variant of primary progressive aphasia (S-PPA) include surface dysgraphia. Word and pseudoword dictation helps characterize errors in these patients' writing to better conduct their therapeutic strategies. Few studies have addressed written language in patients with dementia, and even fewer have done so in PPA.

We present a study on nanoscale skyrmionic spin textures in [Formula: see text], a rare-earth complex noncollinear ferromagnet. We confirm, using X-ray microscopy, that [Formula: see text] can host lattices of metastable skyrmion bubbles at room temperature in the absence of a magnetic field, after applying a suitable field cooling protocol. The skyrmion bubbles are robust against temperature changes from room temperature to 330 K.
