Background: Sepsis is a common cause of hospitalization among Medicare beneficiaries, often leading to prolonged hospital stays and high costs.
Purpose: To estimate the impact of registered nurse (RN) staffing and skill mix on hospital lengths of stay and associated costs for Medicare beneficiaries with sepsis.
Methods: A retrospective, cross-sectional analysis was conducted using 2018 data from 2,107 acute care hospitals, including 653,496 patients with sepsis.

Under the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality target background, efficient collaborative scheduling between distribution networks and multi-microgrids is of great significance for enhancing renewable energy accommodation and ensuring stable system operation. Therefore, this paper proposes a collaborative optimization method for the operation of distribution networks and multi-microgrids with shared energy storage based on a multi-body game. The method is modeled and solved in two stages.

mRNA technology can replace the expensive recombinant technology for every type of protein, making biological drugs more affordable. It can also expedite the entry of new biological drugs, and copies of approved mRNA products can be treated as generic or biosimilar products due to their chemical nature. The introduction of hundreds of new protein drugs have been blocked due to the high cost of recombinant development.

There is a significant incentive to reduce the rate of CAUTIs through multimodal quality improvement initiatives; however, these initiatives are often costly to implement.
Objective: This article examines the cost-savings associated with a novel "two-part, two-person" catheter insertion protocol implemented at a pediatric quaternary care center PICU which replaced costly pre-packaged, closed system urinary catheter kits with their individually packaged components, along with its impact on CAUTI rates and nursing satisfaction.
