This paper presents a novel method for extracting the fetal ECG (FECG) from a single-lead abdominal signal. A dynamical model for a modified abdominal signal is proposed, in which both the maternal ECG (MECG) and the FECG are modeled, and then a parallel marginalized particle filter (par-MPF) is used for tracking the abdominal signal. Finally, the FECG and MECG are simultaneously separated. Several experiments are conducted using both simulated and clinical signals. The results indicate that the method proposed in this paper effectively extracts the FECG and outperforms other Bayesian filtering algorithms.

Purpose: Shear wave elastography (SWE) provides a means for adding information about the mechanical properties of tissues to a diagnostic ultrasound examination. It is important to understand the physics and methods by which the measurements are made to aid interpretation of the results as they relate to disease processes.
Methods: The components of how ultrasound is used to generate shear waves and make measurements of the induced motion are reviewed.

A 15-year-old girl presented with new onset tonic-clonic seizures, encephalopathy, abdominal pain, and hypertension with a history of weight loss and emesis. Brain magnetic resonance imaging scans showed diffuse, bilateral cortical and subcortical gray and white matter signal abnormalities. Electroencephalography showed background slowing and disorganization.

Objective: To explore the application of low-energy image in dual-energy spectral CT (DEsCT) combined with deep learning image reconstruction (DLIR) to improve inferior vena cava imaging.
Materials And Methods: Thirty patients with inferior vena cava syndrome underwent contrast-enhanced upper abdominal CT with routine dose, and the 40, 50, 60, 70, and 80 keV images in the delayed phase were first reconstructed with the ASiR-V40% algorithm. Image quality was evaluated both quantitatively [CT value, SD, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) for inferior vena cava] and qualitatively to select an optimal energy level with the best image quality.

Objective: The aim of this study was to intraindividually compare the conspicuity of focal liver lesions (FLLs) between low- and ultra-low-dose computed tomography (CT) with deep learning reconstruction (DLR) and standard-dose CT with model-based iterative reconstruction (MBIR) from a single CT using dual-split scan in patients with suspected liver metastasis via a noninferiority design.
Materials And Methods: This prospective study enrolled participants who met the eligibility criteria at 2 tertiary hospitals in South Korea from June 2022 to January 2023. The criteria included (a) being aged between 20 and 85 years and (b) having suspected or known liver metastases.

Background: Peritoneal fibrosis is a serious complication of long-term peritoneal dialysis (PD) and abdominal surgeries, yet effective treatments remain elusive. Given the known roles of mucosal-associated invariant T (MAIT) cells in immune responses and fibrotic diseases, we investigated their involvement in PD-induced peritoneal fibrosis to identify potential therapeutic targets.
Methods: We employed single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) and flow cytometry to characterize the activation and function of peritoneal MAIT cells in patients undergoing long-term PD.
