Multiple blood pathogen infections are increasingly found in many areas, particularly in tropical regions. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness and safety of using doxycycline monotherapy to treat triple blood pathogen infection in sheltered dogs. A total of 375 sheltered dogs were screened for blood pathogen using polymerase chain reaction technique (PCR).

The flea Ctenocephalides felis felis and the tick Rhipicephalus sanguineus are ectoparasites of great importance in veterinary medicine that can affect pets, also impacting the lives of owners due to the possible transmission of zoonoses. Due to the negative impact on animals, owners and the environment, synthetic chemicals are being replaced by natural alternatives. Eugenol and carvacrol stand out as bioactive substances with potential antiparasitic activity.

Ticks obtain a blood meal by lacerating small blood vessels and ingesting the blood that flows to the feeding site, which triggers various host responses. However, ticks face the challenge of wound healing, a process involving hemostasis, inflammation, cell proliferation and migration, and remodeling, hindering blood acquisition. To overcome these obstacles, tick salivary glands produce an array of bioactive molecules.

Illegal hunting and trade are not only responsible for the sharp decline in pangolin populations but also provide conditions for pathogenic transmission. In 2021, we rescued 21 confiscated unhealthy Malayan pangolins, none of which survived.

Flaviviruses include important human pathogens such as Dengue, Zika, West Nile, Yellow fever, Japanese encephalitis, and Tick-borne encephalitis viruses as well as some emerging viruses that affect millions of people worldwide. They fuse their membrane with the late endosomal one in a pH-dependent way and therefore the merging of the membranes is one of the main goals for obtaining new antivirals. The envelope E protein, a membrane fusion protein, is accountable for fusion and encompasses different domains involved in the fusion mechanism, including the fusion peptide segment.
