Controversy exists over optimal management of low-risk differentiated thyroid cancer. This controversy occurs in all aspects of management, including surgery, use of radioactive iodine for remnant ablation, thyroid hormone supplementation, and long-term surveillance. Limited and conflicting data, treatment paradigm shifts, and differences in physician perceptions contribute to the controversy. This lack of physician consensus results in wide variation in patient care, with some patients at risk for over- or undertreatment. To reduce patient harm and unnecessary worry, there is a need to design and implement studies to address current knowledge gaps.

Aim: To describe tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) treatment patterns and analyze co-variates of TKI switch for chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) patients in a center from China.
Methods: A retrospectively study was designed to analyze TKI switching patterns, reasons and associated covariates in patients with CP-CML.
Results: 1766 patients receiving initial imatinib (n = 1374), nilotinib (n = 254), dasatinib (n = 63) and flumatinib (n = 75) therapy were retrospectively interrogated.

This study examines pharmaceutical residues in the seawater of west Spitsbergen fjords, using indicator compounds that represent different types of medications with various therapeutic uses (sulfamethoxazole, trimethoprim, carbamazepine, diclofenac, and caffeine). Over three years (summer 2018-2021), trimethoprim, carbamazepine, diclofenac, and caffeine were detected in the investigated fjords (Hornsund, Adventfjorden, Grønnfjorden, Isfjorden, and Kongsfjorden), with diclofenac and caffeine being the most common. Sulfamethoxazole was below the limit of detection in all samples.
