Purpose: Postoperative pain is a major concern for patients undergoing ultrasound scalpel-assisted hemorrhoidectomy, potentially exacerbated by delayed wound healing. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of an intimate cleansing gel containing chlorhexidine, hyaluronic acid, and other anti-inflammatory agents (Antroclean Fisioderm) on postoperative pain, itching, and wound healing in patients who had undergone this procedure.
Methods: This multicenter observational case-control study involved a cohort of consecutive adult patients who underwent hemorrhoidectomy using an ultrasound device.

Rectal cancer is one of the most common carcinomas and a leading cause of cancer-related mortality. Although significant advancements have been made in the treatment of rectal cancer, the deterioration of quality of life (QoL) remains a challenging issue. Various tools have been developed to assess QoL, including the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Colorectal (FACT-C) scale, the QLQ-C30 and QLQ-CR29 by the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), and the 36-Item Short Form Health Survey (SF-36).

Objective: Splenectomy is regularly performed in total and distal pancreatectomy due to technical reasons, lymph node dissection and radicality of the operation. However, the spleen serves as an important organ for competent immune function, and its removal is associated with an increased incidence of cancer and a worse outcome in some cancer entities (Haematologica 99:392-398, 2014; Dis Colon Rectum 51:213-217, 2008; Dis Esophagus 21:334-339, 2008). The impact of splenectomy in pancreatic cancer is not fully resolved (J Am Coll Surg 188:516-521, 1999; J Surg Oncol 119:784-793, 2019).

Introduction: It is a priority to find surgical techniques that guarantee acceptable healing rates without sequelae in the treatment of complex anal fistula. The concept of the deep intersphincteric space as the origin of perianal sepsis has provided a new perspective, allowing the emergence of techniques such as TROPIS (Transanal Opening of Intersphincteric Space), with few published series to date. The aim of this study is to evaluate the healing rate and complications one year after the TROPIS technique as a treatment for complex anal fistula without hospitalization.
