To evaluate the accuracy and retention of compounding skills among students using analytical testing. Students compounded acetaminophen capsules from the same prescription at three time points (Exercise 1, 2, 3). The compounded products were analyzed (by HPLC) for acetaminophen content and the students' written reports were evaluated for accuracy of calculations and labeling. During Exercise 1, 57.8% of the compounded capsule products were within the acceptable range, 92.2% during Exercise 2 and 75% during Exercise 3. The largest range in acetaminophen content was observed during Exercise 3 (76.08% to 135.2%) mainly due to calculation errors. While most students readily develop compounding skills during regular laboratory coursework, long-term competency depends on constant exposure to compounding activities and the retention of calculation skills.

Health Research Institute, Department of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Limerick, Limerick, Ireland. Electronic address:
Background: Practice placements are an essential component of midwifery education, enabling students to apply their theoretical knowledge in a real-world midwifery setting. Exposure and immersion to practice is a core focus of midwifery education internationally. These placements are crucial for students to develop the skills and expertise needed to become safe, competent, and compassionate midwife practitioners.

Objectives : Training of pharmacy technicians in non-sterile compounding unit must meet the requirements of the French good manufacturing practices. Our current training program is composed of one week companionship preceded by a theoretical course and do not allow the acquisition of all the skills and knowledge required. The formation load over the pharmacist and technician also increase due to an important turnover among the technicians.

Objectives: Within paramedic education immersive simulation is widely used to teach technical skills, but its application to non-technical aspects of practice, such as research skills, is limited. This study aimed to explore immersive simulation as a tool to teach specific research skills to paramedic students in higher education to investigate its novel capacity beyond the more traditionally considered technical elements of practice.
Methods: A didactic pre-briefing was delivered to undergraduate paramedic students before they undertook an immersive simulation in which they were expected to assess, extricate, and treat a stroke patient, whilst also assessing whether he was suitable to be enrolled onto a clinical trial, provide information on this, and take consent.

Objective: This systematic review investigates the impact of climate change on the mental health of Pacific Island Nations (PINs), with a focus on identifying culturally tailored interventions and appropriate research methodologies to address these impacts.
Method: A systematic review of peer-reviewed literature up to May 18, 2024, was conducted using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) protocol and the Population, Interest Area, and Context (PICo) framework. Empirical studies on the impact of climate change on mental health in PINs were evaluated by using the Quality Assessment Tool for Studies with Diverse Designs (QATSDD).

Objective: This study examined the alignment between and changes within the tasks performed by pharmacists and skills sought by pharmacist employers from 2012 to 2022.
Methods: The United States Department of Labor's Occupational Information Network (O*NET) surveys a random sample of employees in targeted occupations every 5 years and provides a publicly available database allowing exploration of the frequency with which essential tasks are performed and perceived relevance and importance. Lightcast (formerly Burning Glass) provides labor market analytics of job advertisements; cross-sectional and longitudinal data can be filtered according to occupation, industry, location, and area of specialty.
