Radiofrequency ablation of the superficial venous systems has become one of the mainstays of minimally invasive approaches to varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency. These procedures have high rates of success with scarce complications. This case report highlights a patient with a common femoral arteriovenous fistula presenting with lower extremity steal after radiofrequency ablation treatment of the great saphenous vein. During operative repair of the arteriovenous fistula, a pseudoaneurysm of the common femoral vein ruptured. We review the current literature and highlight the importance of expanding the scope of complications that can occur from seemingly straightforward minimally invasive venous procedures. Informed consent was obtained for publication of this report.

Background: In this study, we estimated the risk of surgically treated postoperative periprosthetic femoral fractures (POPFFs) associated with femoral implants frequently used for total hip arthroplasty (THA).
Methods: In this cohort study of patients who underwent primary THA in England between January 1, 2004, and December 31, 2020, POPFFs were identified from prospectively collected revision records and national hospital records. POPFF incidence rates, adjusting for potential confounders, were estimated for common stems.

Background: In patients with post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS), stent recanalization of iliofemoral veins or the inferior vena cava can restore venous patency and improve functional outcomes. The risk of stent thrombosis is particularly increased during the first 6 months after intervention. The ARIVA trial tested whether daily aspirin 100 mg plus rivaroxaban 20 mg is superior to rivaroxaban 20 mg alone to prevent stent thrombosis within 6 months after stent placement for PTS.

Entrapment neuropathies of the lower extremity are often underdiagnosed due to limitations in clinical examination and electrophysiological testing. Advanced imaging techniques, particularly MR neurography and high-resolution ultrasonography (US), have significantly improved the evaluation and diagnosis of these conditions by enabling precise visualization of nerves and their surrounding anatomical structures. This review focuses on the imaging features of compressive neuropathies affecting the lumbosacral plexus and its branches, including the femoral, obturator, sciatic, common peroneal, and tibial nerves.

The present study endeavors to investigate the roles and underlying mechanisms of miR-656-3p and Bone Morphogenetic Protein-2 (BMP-2) in DFH. It was recruited 94 patients with normal fracture healing (NFH) and 88 patients with DFH of the femoral neck.

The aim of this study was to assess the outcome, specifically the dislocation rate in revision THA where a dual mobility cup was used.
