In a one pot procedure, a series of novel hybrid heterocycles 6a-g and 7a-g were prepared by condensation of (3aS,4S,6S,6aS)-6-((1-(4-chlorophenyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)methoxy)-2,2-dimethyltetrahydrofuro[3,4-d][1,3]dioxole-4-carbaldehyde 5 with mercapto acids and primary amines in the presence of ZnCl2 under both microwave irradiation and conventional heating conditions. Compound 5 was prepared from di-acetone D-mannose via a click reaction, primary acetonide deprotection and oxidative cleavage. Characterization of new compounds has been done by IR, NMR, MS and elemental analysis. Anticancer activity of the compounds has also been evaluated.

Background: In the era of resistance, the design and search for new "small" molecules with a narrow spectrum of activity that target a protein or enzyme specific to a certain bacterium with high selectivity and minimal side effects remains an urgent problem of medicinal chemistry. In this regard, we developed and successfully implemented a strategy for the search for new hybrid molecules, namely, the not broadly known [2-(3-R-1-[1,2,4]-triazol-5-yl)phenyl]amines. They can act as "building blocks" and allow for the introduction of certain structural motifs into the desired final products in order to enhance the antistaphylococcal effect.

Photosynthesis, which is the foundation of crop growth and development, is accompanied by complex transcriptional regulatory mechanisms. Research has established that brassinosteroids (BRs) play a role in regulating plant photosynthesis, with the majority of research focusing on the physiological level and regulation of rate-limiting enzymes in the dark reactions of photosynthesis. However, studies on their effects on maize photosynthesis, specifically on light-harvesting antenna proteins, have yet to be conducted.

Novel 1,2,3-triazole hybrids bearing various substituents have been synthesized as potential anticancer agents. Ligand-based approach has been adopted to design these compounds relying on the hybridization of 1,2,3-triazole with α,β-unsaturated carbonyl, 5- and 6-membered heterocyclic scaffolds. All synthesized members were investigated for their cytotoxic potency against nine types comprising 60 panels of human cancerous cells by the US National Cancer Institute: Development Therapeutic Program (US_NCI_DTP).

Introduction: Heterocyclic derivatives, particularly those containing heteroatoms such as oxygen and nitrogen, represent a significant portion of currently marketed drugs. Among these, the aromatic heterocycle 1,3,4-oxadiazole, characterized by an N=C=O-linkage, stands out due to its remarkable biological activities. These activities include anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, antioxidant, anti-tubercular, antiviral, anti-diabetic, and antibacterial effects.

Heterocyclic chemistry gathered a wide audience due to their presence in potential drug candidates and being attractive synthons initiating several retro-syntheses the organic as well as in medicinal chemistry fields. Among them, azetidinones have been a subject of discussion due to their serendipity, curiosity, versatility by Penicillin and Cephalosporins as β-lactam antibiotics. Despite possessing a large margin of biological activities, azetidinones mainly work as antimicrobial, interfering with bacterial cell-wall synthesis blocking transpeptidase.
