Organic ionic plastic crystals (OIPCs) are a class of solid-state electrolytes with good thermal stability, non-flammability, non-volatility, and good electrochemical stability. When prepared in a composite with electrospun polyvinylidene fluoride (PVdF) nanofibers, a 1:1 mixture of the OIPC N-ethyl-N-methylpyrrolidinium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide ([C mpyr][FSI]) and lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (LiFSI) produced a free-standing, robust solid-state electrolyte. These high-concentration Li-containing electrolyte membranes had a transference number of 0.37(±0.02) and supported stable lithium symmetric-cell cycling at a current density of 0.13 mA cm . The effect of incorporating PVdF in the Li-containing plastic crystal was investigated for different ratios of PVdF and [Li][FSI]/[C mpyr][FSI]. In addition, Li|LiNi Co Mn O cells were prepared and cycled at ambient temperature and displayed a good rate performance and stability.

Polyethylene oxide (PEO)-based electrolytes are essential to advance all-solid-state lithium batteries (ASSLBs) with high safety/energy density due to their inherent flexibility and scalability. However, the inefficient Li+ transport in PEO often leads to poor rate performance and diminished stability of the ASSLBs. The regulation of intermolecular H-bonds is regarded as one of the most effective approaches to enable efficient Li+ transport, while the practical performances are hindered by the electrochemical instability of free H-bond donors and the constrained mobility of highly ordered H-bonding structures.

In this study, magnesium-doped lithium manganese oxide nanoparticles were prepared through a solid-state reaction technique, and their surface was modified with mesoporous silica. The surface-modified material exhibited a significantly enhanced BET surface area from 5.791 to 66.

A paper-based potentiometric sensor integrated with a polymeric hydrogel has been developed for sodium ion (Na) determination in human urine. The construction of an all-solid-state ion selective electrode (s-ISE) and an all-solid-state reference electrode (s-RE) on a photo paper substrate was achieved using an inkjet printing method. For s-ISE fabrication, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) were printed on the substrate as a nanocomposite solid contact.

Lithium dendrite penetration through solid electrolyte has been the major obstacle for practical sulfide-based all-solid-state lithium metal batteries (ASSLMBs). Herein, a series of tailored model solid cells are designed to investigate the intrinsic lithium growth behavior at open surfaces and internal cracks of sulfide solid electrolyte. It is shown that when plating lithium on the open surface of electrolyte (free space), the lithium exhibits an intrinsic columnar growth behavior perpendicular to the electrolyte surface, preferentially along the (110) crystal axis.

Anchoring Ag(I) into MOF-253 for Effectively Catalyzing Cycloaddition of CO with Alkynyl Alcohols/Amine under Ambient Conditions.

In the era of global warming, the conversion of carbon dioxide into high-value products has become a widely scrutinized emerging mitigation strategy. Metalation of bpy-containing MOF-253 led to the synthesis of MOF-253-0.5Ag, which acts as an efficient catalyst for the carbonylative cyclization of CO with alkyne molecules (such as propynyl alcohols and propynyl amines) at room temperature and ambient CO pressure, yielding the corresponding α-alkyl cyclic carbonates and oxazolidinones, thus endowing the catalytic system with bifunctional characteristics.
