Article Abstract

Background: The article includes a review of selected past and current leadership initiatives as well as a summary of three leadership meetings convened by The Center to Champion Nursing in America, a partnership of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), AARP and the AARP Foundation.

Purpose: These "Leadership in Action" meetings were designed to address the Campaign for Action's (CFA) goal to increase the number of nurse leaders in health- and health care-related boardrooms at the local, state and national levels.

Methods: RWJF supported key nursing organizations in initial discussions around integrating state and national efforts to get more nurses onto boards leading to a active vibrant coalition making significant progress.

Conclusion: This article concludes with a call to action encouraging all nurses to consider board service as an essential component of improving health and health care and to do their part to help build a Culture of Health in the United States.

Mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) can significantly improve gas separation performance, but the type and state of the filler in the membrane matrix are key indicators for the development of MMMs. Therefore, in this work, 6FDA-DAM/ODA (1:1), metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with different particle sizes (UiO-66 and UiO-66-NH) were synthesized, and then MOFs were doped into 6FDA-DAM/ODA to prepare MMMs. The effects of the dopant materials and their particle sizes on the gas separation performance of the membranes were investigated by testing the permeability of the MMMs to H, CO, CH, and N.

The emergence of spinon quasiparticles, which carry spin but lack charge, is a hallmark of collective quantum phenomena in low-dimensional quantum spin systems. While the existence of spinons has been demonstrated through scattering spectroscopy in ensemble samples, real-space imaging of these quasiparticles within individual spin chains has remained elusive. Method: A review of the literature examining (a) SLPs' perspectives about their preservice training; (b) SLPs' beliefs, confidence, and self-efficacy; and (c) speech-language pathology preservice program content was conducted via analysis of studies published after the year 2010. Policy documents and websites outlining accreditation requirements in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand were reviewed.
