Background: Our previous study demonstrated that temperature-related microwave ablation (MWA) can safely modulate growth plates of piglets' vertebrae. Therefore, this study is designed to investigate the effects of different temperatures on chondrocyte viability and the underlying molecular mechanisms in vitro.
Methods: Following a 10-minute treatment at different temperatures (37 °C, 40 °C, 42 °C, 44 °C, 46 °C, 48 °C, and 50 °C), CCK-8 assay was used to examine the viability of ATDC5 cells at 12 h.

Signaling through the platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha (PDGFRα) plays a critical role in craniofacial development. Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt is the primary effector of PDGFRα signaling during mouse skeletal development. We previously demonstrated that Akt phosphorylates the RNA-binding protein serine/arginine-rich splicing factor 3 (Srsf3) downstream of PI3K-mediated PDGFRα signaling in mouse embryonic palatal mesenchyme (MEPM) cells, leading to its nuclear translocation.

As aortic valve stenosis (AVS) progresses, the valve tissue also stiffens. This increase in tissue stiffness causes the valvular interstitial cells (VICs) to transform into myofibroblasts in response. VIC-to-myofibroblast differentiation is critically involved in the development of AVS.

T cell exclusion is crucial in enabling tumor immune evasion and immunotherapy resistance. However, the key genes driving this process remain unclear. We uncovered a notable increase of insulin-like growth factor 2 (IGF2) in immune-excluded tumors, predominantly secreted by cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs).

Introduction: Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is an autoimmune disease characterized by low platelet counts. ITP patients with anti-platelet glycoprotein (GP) Ibα (a subunit of GPIb-IX-V complex) autoantibodies, which induce Fc-independent signaling and platelet clearance, are refractory to conventional treatment. Protein kinase C (PKC) is activated by the binding of the ligand von Willebrand factor (VWF) to GPIbα and regulates VWF-GPIbα-induced platelet activation.
