Technosphere insulin (TI), an inhaled insulin with a fast onset of action, provides a novel option for the control of prandial glucose. A euglycemic glucose clamp study was performed to compare the effects of TI and regular human insulin (RHI) on the induced glucose infusion rate (GIR) in healthy volunteers. Generation of a dose-response relationship between insulin dose and effect (expressed as AUC of GIR) was not possible from the clinical data directly. The GIR recording time was too short to capture the full effect and higher doses were not tested. Thus, a pharmacokinetic-GIR model was developed to simulate GIR for a sufficient time window of 20 h and for higher doses. A dose-response model was then generated from the simulated GIR profiles. The resulting model provides an ED for TI that is 5-fold higher than for RHI, a ratio that can be used as conversion factor for equivalent doses of RHI and TI.

Objective: This study investigates the relationship between the albumin-to-creatinine ratio and diabetic retinopathy (DR) in US adults using NHANES data from 2009 to 2016. This study assesses the predictive efficacy of the urinary serum albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR/SACR Ratio) against traditional biomarkers such as the serum albumin-to-creatinine ratio (SACR) and urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR) for evaluating DR risk. Additionally, the study explores the potential of these biomarkers, both individually and in combination with HbA1c, for early detection and risk stratification of DR.

Background: Anrikefon (HSK21542), a potent and selective peripheral kappa opioid receptor (KOR) agonist developed by Haisco, effectively blocks pain and itch signals.
Aim: To develop a population pharmacokinetic (PK) model for anrikefon and conduct exposure-response (E-R) analysis for safety and efficacy in postoperative pain patients.
Method: The Population PK analysis uses NONMEM software with data from six trials.

Background: Chronic respiratory diseases (CRD) represents a series of lung disorders and is posing a global health burden. Systemic inflammation and phenotypic ageing have been respectively reported to associate with certain CRD. However, little is known about the co-exposures and mutual associations of inflammation and ageing with CRD.

Background: Serum vitamin D deficiency is intricately linked to metabolic disorders, however, evidence on its association with continuous metabolic risk in children and adolescents remains insufficient. This study aims to elucidate the relationship between serum vitamin D levels and continuous metabolic risk.
Methods: The cross-sectional analysis involved 4490 participants aged 6 ~ 18, and the longitudinal investigation included 1398 individuals aged 6 ~ 12 years.
