Disparities in access to oncology medicines in European Union (EU) member states can impact patient outcomes profoundly, with availability and timely access varying significantly across and within member states. This paper discusses the intersection of the new European Health Technology Assessment Regulation (HTAR), the provisions of the proposed pharmaceutical legislation and their potential impacts on access to oncology medicines across EU member states. The HTAR, seeking to standardise the clinical evaluation of new medicines, has the potential to streamline the evaluation process but also risks oversimplifying diverse national healthcare needs.

We collected and double-annotated 33,017 discharge summaries from 151 medical institutions on a municipal regional health information platform, developed a BERT-based Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory Model (BiLSTM) and Conditional Random Field (CRF) model, and tested the performance of privacy identification on the dataset. To explore the performance of different substructures of the neural network, we created five additional baseline models and evaluated the impact of different models on performance.

The Welfair certificate has become an important part of food chain integrity for animal welfare assessment in several countries, relying on a rigorous audit that verifies compliance with legislation and assesses animal welfare through the Welfare Quality Protocol (WQP). Dairy cattle farmers are encouraged to conduct internal audits beforehand to self-assess the farm's animal welfare level. Since early 2023, the Welfair scheme has proposed simplified audits to shorten the time needed for internal audits.

Road accidents are a growing concern worldwide, and crash barriers have significantly reduced the severity of these incidents. In its pursuit of developing an eco-friendly crash barrier, India installed the world's first 200 m bamboo crash barrier, on Bombay-Pune Highway. Although its eco-friendly and recyclable design is commendable, using Bambusa balcooa infused with creosote oil and covered with High-density polyethylene (HDPE) raises substantial health and environmental issues due to the presence of toxic and carcinogenic Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).
