Background: Patients with hypertension and other comorbidities have difficulties adhering to their medications which have negative impacts on clinical outcomes. Although some studies have identified strategies to improve medication adherence, a thorough analysis of these interventions will provide synthesized evidence for clinical decision-making and improved health outcomes for patients with hypertension comorbidities.
Aim: To conduct a scoping review on interventions that have been utilised to improve medication adherence in patients with hypertension and other co-morbid conditions.

Inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) is a selective pulmonary vasodilator that is used as a treatment for persistent pulmonary hypertension in neonates (PPHN) with hypoxic respiratory failure. Smartphone-based colorimetric (bio)sensing is a promising alternative to conventional detection equipment for on-site testing, but it is often limited by sensitivity to lighting conditions. These issues are usually avoided using housings with fixed light sources, increasing the cost and complexity of the on-site test, where simplicity, portability, and affordability are a priority. In this study, we demonstrate that careful optimization of color space can significantly boost the performance of smartphone-based colorimetric sensing, enabling housing-free, illumination-invariant detection.
