Object: We aim to explore the immunomodulatory properties of T cells on different titanium nanotubes and the key immunological factors involved in this process.

Methods: Transcriptome data from GEO database of healthy people and healthy implants were used to analyze cell infiltration and factor distribution of adaptive immune using bioinformatics tools. T cells from activated rat were cultured on titanium nanotubes that were prepared by anodization with different diameters (P-0, NT15-30 nm, NT40-100 nm, NT70-200 nm).

Background: Associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy (ALPPS) can induce accelerated regeneration of future liver remnant (FLR) and effectively reduce the occurrence of liver failure due to insufficient FLR after hepatectomy, thereby increasing the probability of radical resection for previously inoperable patients with liver cancer. However, the exact mechanism by which ALPPS accelerates liver regeneration remains elusive.

Methods: A review of the literature was performed utilizing MEDLINE/PubMed and Web of Science databases in March of 2024.

Coats-Like reaction post-vitreoretinal surgery for PDR managed with laser photocoagulation and adjunctive intravitreal steroids- a case report.

BMC Ophthalmol

January 2025

Dept. of Retina and Vitreous, Narayana Nethralaya, #121/C, 1st R Block, Chord Road, Rajaji Nagar, Bengaluru, 560010, India.

Purpose: To report a rare case of a Coats-like response developing after vitreoretinal surgery for proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR) and its successful management with retinal laser photocoagulation and adjunctive intravitreal steroids.

Case Description: A 52-year-old woman with a five-year history of type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension presented with decreased vision in the left eye (counting fingers at 1 m). Examination revealed high-risk PDR in both eyes, with a subtotal macula-off combined retinal detachment in the left eye.

Low-grade glioma (LGG) is a primary, slow-growing brain tumor; however, its treatment and prognosis remain challenging. In this study, we analyzed cancer data from the TCGA database, focusing particularly on the expression of the CDKN3 gene in LGG. The results showed that high CDKN3 expression in LGG patients was significantly associated with poor survival outcomes.

Exosome miR-199a-5p modulated vascular remodeling and inflammatory infiltration of Takayasu's arteritis.

Arthritis Res Ther

January 2025

Department of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Peking Union Medical College, Beijing, China.

Background: Advances in treatment have swiftly alleviated systemic inflammation of Takayasu's arteritis (TAK), while subclinical vascular inflammation and the ensuing arterial remodeling continue to present unresolved challenges in TAK. The phenotypic switching of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC) is regarded as the first step in vascular pathology and contributes to arterial remodeling. Exosomes facilitate the transfer and exchange of proteins and specific nucleic acids, thereby playing a significant role in intercellular communication.
