Pulmonary mucus serves as a crucial protective barrier in the respiratory tract, defending against pathogens and contributing to effective clearance mechanisms. In Muco Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases (MOPD), abnormal rheological properties lead to highly viscous mucus, fostering chronic infections and exacerbations. While prior research has linked mucus viscoelasticity to its mucin content, the variability in MOPD patients implies the involvement of other factors.

Background: Regulatory T-cells (Tregs) play a crucial role in maintaining immune homeostasis, but their dynamics are altered in a subset of people living with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) known as immunological non-responders (INRs). INRs fail to reconstitute CD4 T-cell counts despite viral suppression. This study aimed to examine Treg dysregulation in INRs, comparing them to immunological responders (IRs) and healthy controls (HCs).

Cladribine is an immune reconstitution therapy for multiple sclerosis (MS) that selectively produces long-term reductions in highly pathological memory B cells, with temporary reductions in other B- and T-cell subsets, thereby restoring immune function close to baseline levels in the short term. Here, we describe two cases of relapsing MS (RMS) treated with a second course of cladribine. Both patients were initially diagnosed with clinically isolated syndrome and later enrolled in the ORACLE-MS and CLASSIC-MS studies.

This study investigated the survival dynamics of BG24, a probiotic strain, within reconstituted skim milk (RSM) and yeast extract (YE) matrices during the spray-drying (SD) process, encompassing of inlet/outlet air temperatures. Notably, optimum SD parameters were found to be an inlet air temperature of 150°C and outlet air temperature of 83°C, that achieving high viability (92.23%), and reducing both moisture content (MC) (3.

F-type Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) synthase is a membrane-bound macromolecular complex, which is responsible for the synthesis of ATP, the universal energy source in living cells. This enzyme uses the proton- or sodium-motive force to power ATP synthesis by a unique rotary mechanism and can also operate in reverse, ATP hydrolysis, to generate ion gradients across membranes. The FF-ATP synthases from bacteria consist of eight different structural subunits, forming a complex of ~550 kDa in size.
