The omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) exert multiple cardioprotective effects, influencing inflammation, platelet activation, endothelial function and lipid metabolism, besides their well-established triglyceride lowering properties. It is not uncommon for omega-3 PUFAs to be prescribed for hypertriglyceridemia, alongside antiplatelet therapy in cardiovascular disease (CVD) patients. In this regard, we studied the effect of EPA and DHA, in combination with antiplatelet drugs, in platelet aggregation and P-selectin and αβ membrane expression.

Introduction: We aim to explore the association between NSAIDs consumption, Symptomatic Slow Action Drugs for Osteoarthritis (SYSADOA), analgesics, and antiplatelet drugs, and decline in renal function by estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR).
Methods: We performed a case-control study using the SIDIAP database in Catalonia. We considered defined cases, patients with an eGFR value ≤ 45 ml/min/1.

Background: A retrospective analysis of neck hematoma, stroke, and mortality after symptomatic and asymptomatic carotid endarterectomy (CEA) was conducted, to determine the most appropriate perioperative medication for these patients. Thirty-day outcomes of moderate and severe neck bleeding were also investigated.
Methods: Patients undergoing CEA in a Vascular Surgery department were analyzed (2015-2019).

Background: The optimal antiplatelet treatment for the secondary prevention of non-cardioembolic stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA) remains uncertain in Asians.
Methods: We searched for eligible randomized control trials in Medline, Embase, and the Cochrane Library. A Bayesian network meta-analysis (NMA) was performed to assess the efficacy and safety of antiplatelet regimens with placebo as the control.

Background: Acetylsalicylic acid hypersensitivity (ASAH) limits therapeutic options in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), who benefit from dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT), especially when undergoing stent implantation. Our aim was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of triflusal in patients with ACS and ASAH.
Methods And Results: Two-center retrospective study of patients diagnosed with ACS and ASAH from January 1, 2000, to May 1, 2020.
