Background And Objectives: The most widely used method of platelet cryopreservation requires the addition of 5%-6% dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO), followed by its pre-freeze removal via centrifugation, to minimize toxicity. However, this adds complexity to the pre-freeze and post-thaw processing. Accordingly, the aim of this study was to simplify platelet cryopreservation by reducing the DMSO concentration and omitting the requirement for pre-transfusion removal.

Introduction: Deep Vein Arterialization (DVA) is an innovative surgical technique aimed at enhancing blood flow in compromised limbs facing amputation. Maintenance of flow post-revascularization is crucial to limb salvage. As this is a new technique, no standardized thromboprophylaxis regime is currently established, and post-procedure thromboprophylaxis is at the discretion of the proceduralist.

Background: Deep venous thrombosis of the lower extremity is a common and fatal complication of hip fracture in the elderly. However, there is a lack of targeted laboratory diagnostic methods. Although traditional laboratory indicators can provide some reference, the diagnostic efficiency is relatively limited This study aimed to investigate the diagnostic accuracies of thromboelastography (TEG) combined with traditional coagulation parameters for early diagnosis of newly occurring lower extremity deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in elderly patients with hip fractures.

Background: Thromboelastography (TEG) and coagulation tests can be used to detect hypercoagulability to assess thrombus formation. This study explored the association between TEG and coagulation in evaluating disease severity in elderly patients with lower extremity arteriosclerotic occlusive disease (LEASO), aimed to provide surgical treatment guideline.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical characteristics, laboratory biomarkers, TEG and coagulation parameters of 233 elderly LEASO patients treated between 2020 and 2023.

Background: Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is an obstructive disease with a hindering venous reflux mechanism. The aim of this study was to identify independent risk factors for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in patients with traumatic lower extremity fractures and assess the diagnostic value of thromboelastogram (TEG) and thrombus molecular markers.
Methods: Reviewed patients with lower extremity fractures were admitted from October 2022 to September 2023.
