Chronic asymptomatic retention of an intragastric foreign body can pose a life-threatening scenario. In the event of migration, it may result in perforation, as shown in our unique case of pericardial perforation through the fundus. Beyond illustrating a rare condition, this case prompts us to engage in a debate about whether to retain or remove asymptomatic foreign bodies in the gastrointestinal tract.

Objective: Intragastric administration of ninjin'yoeito (NYT), a traditional Japanese herbal medicine, reportedly prevents the decrease in baseline cerebral blood flow (CBF) in the cortex following gastric administration of water. We investigated the effect of NYT on baseline and dynamic changes in cerebral cortical arteriole diameter.
Methods: Urethane-anesthetized mice were intragastrically administered 1 g/kg NYT or distilled water (DW).

Stapled peptides with significantly enhanced pharmacological profiles have emerged as promising therapeutic molecules due to their remarkable resistance to proteolysis and performance to penetrate cells. The all-hydrocarbon peptide stapling technique has already widely adopted with great success, yielding numerous potent peptide-based molecules. Based on our prior efforts, we conceived and prepared a double-stapled peptide in this study, termed FRNC-1, which effectively attenuated the bone resorption capacity of mature osteoclasts through specific inhibition of phosphorylated GSK-3.

Total glucosides picrorhizae rhizome (TGPR) is an innovative traditional Chinese medicine, which is a candidate drug for the treatment of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). However, there is still lack of deep research on the behaviors of TGPR in vivo. In this study, a reliable, specific, and sensitive liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS) method has been constructed for simultaneous determination of picroside I, picroside II, vanillic acid, androsin, cinnamic acid and picroside IV, the major active constituents of TGPR, in rat various biological matrices (plasma, tissue, bile, urine and feces) using diphenhydramine hydrochloride and paeoniflorin as the internal standard.
