Background: Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) has gained popularity for its caries-arresting properties, yet its tendency to cause esthetic concerns due to black-staining limits its widespread acceptance.

Aim: The aim of the study was to evaluate and compare the shear bond strength of Activa BioActive and Giomer restorative material with different protocols of SDF pretreatment on carious dentin.

Materials And Methods: Ninety-two extracted teeth were decoronated at the cementoenamel junction, sectioned 1 mm into dentin, mounted in acrylic resin and randomly divided into four ( = 8) control and six ( = 10) experimental groups.

Unlocking new possibilities in ionic thermoelectric materials: a machine learning perspective.

Natl Sci Rev

Key Laboratory for Thermal Science and Power Engineering of Ministry of Education, Department of Engineering Mechanics, Tsinghua University, Beijing 100084, China.

The high thermopower of ionic thermoelectric (-TE) materials holds promise for miniaturized waste-heat recovery devices and thermal sensors. However, progress is hampered by laborious trial-and-error experimentations, which lack theoretical underpinning. Herein, by introducing the simplified molecular-input line-entry system, we have addressed the challenge posed by the inconsistency of -TE material types, and present a machine learning model that evaluates the Seebeck coefficient with an of 0.

Electrolysis of -alkynyl--(formyl)anilides and sodium sulfinates on graphite electrodes delivers biologically sound 3-(sulfonyl)quinol-4-ones with moderate to good yields. The reaction is carried out in an undivided cell in the presence of silver(I) oxide with potassium iodide or sodium tetrafluoroborate as the supporting electrolyte. The reaction tolerates variously substituted anilides as well as aryl and alkyl sulfinates.
